What an amazingly "danish" comment in every shitty sense of the word. This song will likely win the entire thing, so you better be prepared for the shock boo ;)

Woah, even the Danish are getting in on using 'Danish' as an insult.

edit: and tbh, you're right.

A comment that fits the danish stereotype of xenophobia. The danish commentator in Eurovision is a great example. Always talking about nordic brothers and lumping everything to the east of Germany together as Eastern Europe.

Great song with winning potential. It´s at the moment in my TOP 2. It´s not one of the normal blablabla-songs, no it has a message and Jamala is great. For sure 12 points.

To the people predicting a Ukrainian win - I'm hoping you're right, since it's still my #1 for the year, but... I don't think it's going to happen, so I'd rather not get my hopes up too much. The odds have got it at around 40/1 (ie. a 2.5% chance for the win), and I just don't see it as being the most accessible entry to a mainstream audience. I'd be thrilled to be proven wrong, though!

I wouldn't rely on the odds too much, it does not always show real results (moreover, in the beginning), how can a country that did not choose/present their song be in top 5 or even top 3?

Eastern Europe generally do not understand Jamala's Tatar language. Tatars are Turkic people .

Yeah, as much as I stan for it, I can't see it winning. With that said, I'm surprised it's THAT low with the bookies.

That shows how ignorant can some western europeans be. Just sayin' ^^

Sweden just commited suicide and there is no chance in hell they will get a top 3. So my bet is for Kyiv or Moscow 2017. ^_^ I hope this will prove the odds wrong, like Suus did back in 2012.

I still fail to see the greateness of 1944. I really really like the chorus, when she is singing tatar language; both because of the melody, the sound of the language that seems to fit the melody and the instrumentations.
But I am totally put off by the verses; both her singing and the lyrics that I feel dont match the melody.
I cant see Ukraine being a contender for the win with this song. I dont see this song having appeal all over Europe.

I still don't agree with this entry, but the EBU made their decision so I respect that and I'll just concentrate on the song.

She has a good voice but it's not my kind of song, it's one of these what I call "wailing" songs... woe, woe and thrice woe. Wailing songs are usually popular at Eurovision, and combined with anti-Putin gays across Europe supporting it, I'm not surprised that Ukraine is one of the most popular entries this year, and as a result, I expect it will do well - top 10 for sure.

From me it's a 5 points.

^ I appreciate that version of the song very much, but i'm getting a bit concerned now. That's not the first time i've heard Jamala perform it in that style. I hope we don't suddenly get a revamped version of the song dropped on us. It's perfect as it is in it's original version, and it's the one that needs to go to ESC. Guitar should be kept away from it. It becomes less special.

In her recent interview to ESCKAZ she said song will not change.
