If this is not stopped, it can be terrible in the future when all the countries internationalize its problem via Eurovision Song Contest (not Europoliticalvision or Eurohistoricalvision). Imagine that on the stage where European countries are supposed to be together, Armenians sing Don't Deny and Azeris sing "The dark dark nights of Khodjali", French singer perform "Alsace Lorraine My Home" and Serbia "Destroyers in the Sky", how would this contest be?
In this case, I agree that Jamala has the right to compose a song that reflects the story of her ancestors. But, if you want to make it "raw", either you don't try to join Eurovision or you can express yourself in a much prudent way (some art of hinting). For example, 1944 is a concrete and definite year, so when people see the title and know the background of the singer they know at once what she will be singing about. Is it really really hard for Jamala to tell the same story but with different type of lyrics, for example a title of "The Train Bound Eastward" will not be that controversial, and it is not 100% necessary to put the words like "weapon" in the lyrics.

Lol. Using the phrase the train bound eastwards is a lot more direct way of speaking about the issue than naming the year 1944.

Nobody owns a copyright for this year. Yesterday she said she will change the title if the EBU asks her & it won't be a problem to her.
I was actually thinking STB and Jamala will already send it under another title.

Jamala says if she is asked to change song name it will be done but there is no plans to do it despite Danylko advised her to make title less compromising.
She told us in the Ukrainian NF that she would change the background and all the performance too.

"Souls" was her very first title. Maybe she might figure another name? who knows
1944 is more significant than 'Souls', but... nevermind.

Yeah but she said that she sees no reason for doing so unless EBU tells her to.
That'd be better if Ukraine would love to receive some points from Russia.
I don't think it's happening in future years for sure, despite the title of the song or a song.
