I don't think it's happening in future years for sure, despite the title of the song or a song.

In 2014, Russia gave some points to Ukraine though.

I hope she won't change the title because of pressure for Kremlin... if EBU give into pressure from Kremlin then we can say bye-bye to ESC as we know it...

There were subtle messages in many ESC songs previously and EBU even accepted blatant political messages such as presented in for instance Portugal 2011. After (and around) the fall of the Berlin Wall for instance, almost half of the songs had subtle or even direct political messages... if Russia has a problem with a singer singing a tribute song to a struggle that her people (including direct family) had to live through then it's more telling about Russia's view on history than anything... history-revisionism is not cute and it's more scary that some want to whitewash serious war-crimes...

And again, this is all subtle and therefor the song do not break any rules and there shouldn't even be any discussion.

A-lister I agree with you on this but last year "Don't Deny" became "Face The Shadow" :? I guess it's quite likely that someone will think "1944" as a title is controversial (and therefore not suitable). But if she succeeds in keeping it, I'd be glad, as it's how she wanted to name the song.

'Don't Deny' was more provocative by far than '1944' when it concerns the song title..

Certainly the marmite song of 2016. I like it, particularly the ethnic influences of the music and the Tartar-language but I can see why people won't. Just like 'Suus', only this one isn't glass-breaking.

And for the 1000th time in a row, Ukraine sends a female singer :p

Well that would have happened last year. This year however...

I wouldn't trust all broadcasters to play by the rules though... there were incidents of frauds in the past and as far as I know EBU can just trust the broadcasters to collect votes properly and present the actual televote results...

And I wouldn't really think that Russia will get that low. Sure the commentator will probably say that noone should vote for that entry and so on, but I do not think they will have a major fraud in televoting there.
