We played bad and the red card was so foolish receieved.

:ro: Astra Giurgiu - Austria Wien :at: 2 - 3
I didn't watch the game but if Astra lost at home against the weakest opponent in the group I don't think they can do much against Viktoria Plzen and AS Roma.

Celtic 3-3 Man City

What a pulsating, thrilling game. That was sport at it's best. Celtic showing they absolutely belong at this level and did what no premier league team did and stopped Man City's winning streak.

4 points from the 2 Mgladbach games should be enough for 3rd place. And if Barca can beat City twice, then Celtic can still get second.

Before the match I would've said that a draw would've been great, but considering how we played and the penalty that we didn't receive, I believe we should've won! Now, with FC Zurich wininng over Osmanlispor, the group got more entertaining!

:it: AS Roma - Astra Giurgiu :ro: 4 - 0
If Totti at the age of 40 is man of the match against Astra, then Astra really has a problem

^ Or maybe that was simply a birthday gift ;)

(But unfortunately I do believe Astra has a problem this season :( Probably this is the price to pay for playing in Gigis playground..)

:ie: Dundalk now has a good chance for the next stage (from second place in group, but still very impressive result for club and for country).

What do you mean? Steaua invested 3.7 milion Euros in transfers this season, while Astra invested 35.000 Euros. That is probably wrong :lol; Fro those 3.7 milion Euros, 1 milion went to Astra to buy two of their best players :) I don't think Gigi Becali is doing anything wrong.

I'm not talking or even comparing the financial reality of both teams. But for sure you know Gigi better than me...and his scandals and acts of corruption in the past. Nothing against Steaua at all, just not a fan of the man himself.

My point was that when an unusual team emerges champion as Astra did last season and sort of confuses the hierarchy of the sport within the country all is done by those with enough power to make sure that such a surprise does not happen the following season or anytime soon. This is even more likely in a country like Romania unfortunately. I'd compare it a bit with the golden years of Berlusconi with Milan, to a smaller scale obviously.

Then again there's also the Leicester case...anyone really thinks they are going for it again this season? One shouldn't forget that football like any other type of entertainment has it's own backstage tricks to keep the interest in the sport alive and renewed. I wish it didn't have to be this way.

C'mon, Legia... just one point... please? Just a single point... is that too much to ask? I'll try to be an optimist on this matter

From what it's been happening in the PL so far, they're fighting for mid-table. I don't understand what's going on... where's the defense? In the CL, however, they can go far, I believe in them ;)

Can't have "Make a Wish" Foundation titles coming out of the sky each season :p

Agreed with the CL campaign though. Porto with an +3 seasons internal crisis & the draw make it easy for them.

As for Legia, maybe my Sporting can drop a point in Warsaw ;) Depends on whether Real starts getting the results they really deserve in the CL as well. Actually I see it as more likely stealing points from Real than any other team in the group. Zidane may have been a good player but he's no manager.

And it's over, I guess!

I really don't get how Astra plays so bad in Liga 1 but in Europe does these things.

This might be far off but could be a matter of focus. Perhaps :ro: Astra's focus for this season are European competitions.

Our current manager, Jorge Jesus has a reputation for overlooking European competitions and is rather obsessed with the championship instead. So if the opposite can happen with my team I see no reason for Astra not having the reverse. After all, who knows when they will be in European competitions again. Next season is already looking highly unlikely.

It's a good win, but in order to qualify we need to win at Villareal or make a draw with 2 or more goals + Osmanlispor to win against FC Zurich.

:at: Austria Wien - Astra Giurgiu :ro: 1 -2
Astra was amazing! Now if they win against already qualified AS Roma they are qualified. They can also qualify with a draw or a loose as long as Austria Wien doesen't win in Plzen.

We are out! It was a logical thing!

:ro: Astra Giurgiu - AS Roma :it: 0 - 0
Congratulations to Astra! The really deserve this qualification as they sacrificed Liga 1 for it! :)
