UEFA Champions League, 3rd round:

:ro: Steaua Bucharest - Sparta Prague :cz: 2 - 0 (3 - 1 agg.)
I am happy that we made it, but I am happier that we really played good football!

:dk: FK Copenhagn - Astra Giurgiu :ro: 3 - 0 (4 - 1 agg.)
To bad for Astra! In the UEFA Europa League Play-Off they will get an even more stronger opponent!

I'd really appreciate it if Maribor performed badly on Thursday. This is a great chance for Aberdeen.

I'll just leave this here:mrgreen:

It's over, but we will see a great match and then we can go to the UEFA Europa League group stage.

UEFA Europa League, Play-Off:

:ro: Astra Giurgiu - West Ham United :en:
Astra eliminated West Ham last season, but it was a stronger Astra! We will see!

Someone within the high ranks of UEFA seems to have some sort of problem with Romanian teams.

I'd be very happy if Steaua, a European historic football institution beat that 2nd team of Manchester that played in Championship not so long ago before the owners sold the club to non-European demonic forces with endless ammounts of money, making the team almost as dislikeable as the worldwild champions of dislkeability - Real Madrid.
Money should speak higher at the end of it all however and that's just another reason why competitions between national teams as opposed to football clubs will always be more leveled and all around purer to the concept of the game.

Hoping Astra repeats last season's result, although you can't really compare the football realm of Giurgiu to that of London. Plus Bilic always has his tricks up his sleeve. But I fancy this Astra, now even more with Sapunaru on their side.

Happy with Celtic's draw at least. Beer Sheva stand between Celtic and a first group stage place in 3 years.

The difference is way to obvious + 2 penalties missed by City and a lot of other chances! I am not ashamed of the result as Aguerro values more than our entire team  As for the prank that Dinamo fans made, It's hialrious. They never got to play in UEFA Champions League and they did it last night in the coreography

Celtic 5-2 Hapoel Beer Sheeva

Fantastic result and performance. More than I could have expected. Scott Sinclair is a class above, what a great signing. Kolo Toure marshalled the defence well, and Leigh Griffith is playing out of his skin.

The group stage awaits!

So happy for Astra :)

They got a bit tougher luck with the group draw than Steaua though.

As for the CL draw...I honestly fear more Dortmund than Real.

Group L:
:es: Villareal
:ro: Steaua Bucharest
:ch: FC Zurich
:tr: Osmanlispor

Great draw! I think we will fight Osmanlispor for the 2nd place!

Group E:
:cz: Viktoria Plzen
:it: AS Roma
:at: Austia Wien
:ro: Astra Giurgiu

Tough draw, but a 2nd place is reachable!

And I was unaware that Zürich is in the Swiss 2nd division these days. Just to think that a handful of years ago we played them in Europa League...one more reason for Steaua pulling through.

Not sure Celtic should have bothered qualifying. Barcelona, Man City and Monchengladbach. Be lucky to get a single point.
