 Molde FK 0-2 FC Rubin Kazan :ru:
 Tromsø IL 2-1 Beşiktaş JK :tr:

Molde is in trouble after a rather poor first half, but they played a very good second half, and could have equalized a number of times. Unfortunately for them, they never managed to get the ball over the line, and instead, Rubin Kazan got their second goal just before the end. Molde will have to do something amazing to qualify...

Tromsø however, which is currently close to the relegation zone in the Norwegian league, and have played against rather easy opponents in this qualification, must have been reminded about Galatasaray, because they're not giving up without a fight here. I thought this was over when Beşiktaş got the first goal rather early, and I never thought Tromsø would manage to turn it around to a 2-1 win. It's still gonna be tricky in Turkey tho, and if this is because Beşiktaş underestimated Tromsø, then I highly doubt they'll do that at home...

UEFA Europa League play-off

:rs: Partizan 1:0 :ch: Thun

I am pretty satisfied with the result :D We didn't get any goal in our net and we managed to win. Considering how awful we were playing since the start of the season, the bad atmosphere all around the club because of that, the lack of attackers (we only played with Mitrovic as an attacker, and he will go to Anderlecht in less than a week now) and with some needed and forced changes in the defense line, we must be satisfied. This is a result that gives us realistic chances for yet another group stage of Europa League :D

The play is still very, very bad, but there were some positive things yesterday as well. The first 15 minutes where we played very aggressively and 15 minutes after Jojic scored the winning goal are the model that we need to aim for in the next matches. Rasovic made a huge mistake by pulling Djemba Djemba out of the play in the second half, as Thun had two 100% chances after that, but adding Ninkovic around 60th minute was the right thing to do, as he brought many positive things in our play, and made the defenders of Thun create a mistake from which we scored.

Sanogo from Thun gave us a lot of problems in the middle just like I expected, and we didn't mark Sadik very well, as he had a good equalizing chance near the end of the match. We pressed them very well after the goal, but then retreated to defend the lead. We had a great chance for 2-0 as well, Ninkovic shot it very well, but the keeper of Thun saved it from getting into the goal.

Hopefully, this will give some confidence to our players and this victory could be the positive turnover of the season :D In the rematch, we should definetly pay more attention to deep passes behind the back of the Thun's defense, as both of their central backs are quite slow and we would create an ideal chance for Mitrovic to use his speed and corpulent to score another goal and finally decide the winner of the overall duel.

This is the goal of Milos Jojic from last night:

:rs: Vojvodina 1:1 :md: Sheriff Tiraspoli

Because I watched Partizan, I couldn't watch this duel as well. I am sad that Vojvodina didn't manage to get a better result since they had an extra player for the most time of the match. Based on what I saw that had a lot of technical errors as a result of nervousness and Sheriff, as an experienced team, used this and got the lead. However, since one of their players got a red card, they had to retreat and defend. Vojvodina managed to equalize with Skuletic, but didn't manage to win the match.

Sheriff usually plays better when they play on away field, so I think Vojvodina still has realistic chances to eliminate them in Moldova. It would be very nice for :rs: football to have two of our clubs in the group stage of Europa League :D For the first time!

:ro: Pandurii 0 - 1 :pt: SC Braga
:pt: Estoril Praia 2-0 FC Pasching :at:

Didn't have time to watch any of the games but the results were pretty much expected. It would have been better if they had scored more goals obviously, but all seems well and it seems that Portugal will have every single team in the group stages of the European competitions for the 2nd year in a row!
Plus, things are going great for the Portuguese league in the ranking. We already have a 4.000 advance to :fr:, whose teams are not doing that well (Nice lost 2-0 and Saint Étienne 4-3), and we are just 0.3 points away from :it:! Who knows if someday the dream of having 4 :pt: teams in the Champions League can come true! We are still very far away from the top 3 though

@Milos
I'm very happy for Partizan :D
Since I've started to read this thread, I want Partizan and Vojvodina to do well (Unless they face Portuguese teams )

^^ Thank you my friend :D !

It would really be epic to have 2 :rs: clubs in the group stage of Europa League, as we never had two clubs in the group stage of one eurocup. And it is especially epic that this second club will not be :rs: Crvena Zvezda! :D That is what I especially like

I also hope for the best for your team :D Sporting is a club with huge tradition and I highly value that. Btw, it is interesting to note that our first international match ever was exactly against Sporting Lisabon :D

As for Partizan, as I said in my analysis of the match, we now have a great situation to secure the group stage and we don't have a in imperative of victory in the second match, but I really hope that we will also not defend this lead and that we will try to score at least one goal, which will be enough. Thun is a team that easily scores but gets goals easily as well, and they will have to attack, which will leave a lot of space behind. Since both of their defenders are slow, we could use the deep passes behind their back to score. Long balls are definetly not an option here.

Vojvodina has a great team, but they have many problems with their mentality. They tend to play extremely well against stronger rivals, when they are not the favorites, but lose points and matches against the rivals which are expected to be beaten by them. They were mild favorites against Sheriff yesterday and only tied even though Sheriff had one player less for most of the match.

In the championship also, they know to outplay Partizan and Zvezda, but lose points against teams like Donji Srem. They don't have the winning mentality.

I still hope and believe they can pass Sheriff in the second leg.

:dk: Esbjerg FB - :fr: St. Etienne 4-3

:se: Elfsborg - :dk: FC Nordsjælland 1-1

Such a boss performance by Esbjerg last night against Ligue 1's nr. 5 last season.
It's been 8 years without European football for them and several relegations and promotions and here they are. Fantastic support by the home crowd on a completely sold out stadium. It was clear that the Esbjerg-fans have been yourning for a European night like this again. Hopefully they'll settle it once and for all in France next week. Despite being an FCK-fan I believe Esbjerg would do far better in CL than we're going to in our current state...

All in all two pretty good results for both of our Europe League contenders.

So glad that Rijeka is doing so good. If it stays like this we might have two teams in Europa league (I think Dinamo lost every chance of getting into CL). xcheer

I hope and think that Sporting will turn things around this season. As I said before, it's the first time in more than 30 years that we aren't in a European competition!
Last season was horrible, but thankfulu I really think this season will be better, and we'll be at least fighting for the 3rd place and the Champions League qualification. We probably won't be fighting for 1st place, as our team is young and reformulated, but if everything goes right this season, and things develop as expected we can dream of that once again next season!

Let's hope we'll have a Sporting vs Partizan final of a European competition in the near future :D

I'm supporting Partizan against Thun :D And I think Vojvodina can still win in Moldova, let's hope so.

^^ I assume that, at least according to my informations, this is mainly because of Ricardo Sa Pinto's leading of the team?

Too bad really, but I am sure you will come back stronger than ever :D We also have a focus on young players, and in fact, most of our roster comes from our youth school. According to the experts, Partizan's youth school is the 2nd best in Europe after the one of Ajax. We take the most talented children all over :rs: and then create players for the first team of Partizan from them. Many of them end in very serious clubs after Partizan.

Some of our best recent products are: Lazar Markovic (Benfica), Matija Nastasic (Manchester City), Stevan Jovetic (Manchester City), Aleksandar Mitrovic (now he will move to RSC Anderlecht), etc.........

And I like this phylosophy with young players. It shouldn't predominantly be a team composed of young players but a mix of experience and youth. Just like we have now. We have some very promising players in the roster now like Danilo Pantic, from who I expect a lot, based on what I saw from him in Teleoptik (our youth school) as well as the experienced players like Sasa Ilic (he is a living legend of our club :D ), Milan Obradovic and Eric Djemba Djemba (ex player of Manchester United).

It would be epic to have something like that, but, tbh, I doubt it  We are far from that level. For us it is a satisfaction when we qualify to the group stage of the eurocup and get some points there :D That is what I hope for now as well. I don't have any hopes for spring in Europe as well. We didn't pass the group stage in 9 years already.

Vojvodina made a huge mistake, as they sold the attacker Abubakar before the first match with Sheriff, and Abubakar was half of the team (at least in the attack). They are at least 50% weaker now, but imo the chances are stil 50-50. Sheriff plays worse when they play at home, and Vojvodina is much better when they play as guests. So they have a chance.

Thank you for supporting Partizan xcheer And, well, Vojvodina as well of course :D

Incredibly bad game of Schalke. At least they secured their 20 million €. They will need it in the upcoming season xthink

As I thought....no EL for Dinamo nor the other clubs from Croatia this year. Fair enough! Maybe they will make something in Europa league.......we'll see.

I just hope Rijeka will reach the EL as well.

Celtic 3-0 Karagandy (3-2 agg)

Celtic in to the group stages again after a wonderful performance. Guess killing a defenceless animal didn't work this time, eh?

God helped Rijeka today (18.00 CET) against Stuttgart to reach the EL....we'd have two clubs in the next season in Euroleague then.......(Rijeka defends an advantage 2:1 from the first match, so the minimal victory would be enough).....
