Italy's minority players were so good. They are so international. Paola Egonu, Myriam Sylla, Sara Fahr, Sorokaite. That's 4/5 of the starters minus the libero :O They really are the pride of minority groups all around the world ♥️♥️

Maybe Germany should try the same with Turkish players so they stop losing 3-0 against Turkey every match 🤣

Turkey didn't let their best player play too much, let's wait for the rest of the matches ;) definitely an exciting tournament!

You are so right! Egonu and Sylla were born Italians, Fahr was raised in Italy and spent almost her whole life there, only substitute player Sorokatie was naturalised Italian in adult age. This is indeed a great statement for minorities, showing they all have the opportunity to be part of a national team and represent proudly THEIR country.

It’s sad, however, that they have to suffer constantly discrimination and allegations from racist minded people who consider them “less Italians“ or not having the right to represent Italy just because of their origins.

By the way, Turkey has already naturalised young star, Cuban player, Melissa Vargas, but she was not eligible to play this Olympics yet according to the rules of FIVB, she needs to wait two years to do so. Probably for the World Cup or the next Olympics she can proudly represent Turkey, which would be a double statement being a dark skin naturalised Turkish and openly lesbian.

As for the match itself, Turkey was an opponent only the first two sets, Karakurt was nulified, she is a top player just need to chill, keep calm and focus sometimes.

Life is hard, it's harder if you make ignorant statements on topics you have no clue about

Belgium have come out on fire in Men's field hockey as well. They won 9-4 today I believe over South Africa.

Yes true ! And they also beated The Netherlands and Germany before, they're World and European Champions in hockey so I hope that they'll also get that Olympic title haha

Also tomorrow we have one of our two Moroccan realistic chances of medal competiting, Asmaa Niang will try to get a medal in judo and I hope that she'll make it !

People need to realize a single loss in group stages in team sport means nothing :ROFLMAO: The last Olympics womens champions team was 4th in the group, reminder. Time to humble yourself and not talk about sports you have no clue about.

:fi: Mira Potkonen did her job in boxing winning her first fight, don't lose hope for a medal.

Yep, but last two rounds were kind of terrible boxing from Potkonen. Luckily she did enough, which was needed to won that match. And next match will be against Italian, which is second place in world ranking, so tough opponent is coming.

Edit. Okay, it is against South Korean, but I am really sure, that commentator said, that Potkonen's next opponent will be Italian.

Who should we look out for in track and field for Morocco when it starts next week? That's probably the event I follow the closest.

I didn't totally understand your question but our most concrete hope in medal is Sofiane El Bakkali in athletism, he's the favorite for the 3000m Steeple and maybe can get a medal in 1500m !

You understood it fine. Yeah I was asking who's the best chance to place well and possibly get a medal. My favorite events in the track are the distance ones. (1500, 3000 steeple, 5000, and 10000) US has a really promising female distance group of runners this year so very excited to see what they can do.

Also Tuula Tenkanen and Kaarle Tapper has opportunity to take medals laser-class in sailing. Both of them are in 5th place, when there are four starts left + medal start.

We had gold medals from athletes in both Hawai'i and Alaska the last day.

Lydia Jacoby (from Alaska) upset Lily King in W 100m Breaststroke in swimming and Carissa Moore (from Hawai'i) won the gold medal match against Bianca Buitendag of South Africa to claim the first ever Olympic Women's shortboard surfing competition.

well, the Dutch are the unlucky bunch this year. Lots of 4th and 5th places, lots of 'failures' where gold could be logical. Still the most medals should come from rowing and track cycling, so we should wait and see.
