I'd like Eurovision to be in a stadium, of course there's a chance of rain if there's not cover though :( But these ever smaller arenas are becoming almost like concert halls they're so small :(

The Wiener Stadthalle is bigger then the previous two venues in terms of capacity though.

Anyway, stage construction photos, this really means Eurovision time is coming!!

Let's wait for the final result. However, it looks small at the moment.. 60th edition and ''only'' that? Hopefully it will look amazing at the end.

esc in the stadium in denmark 2001 was really horrable. and remember baku 2012..... if the halls are too big there is not the right atmosphere. bigger is not always better. i prefer smaller venues.

But you can't deny that the atmosphere in Düsseldorf was amazing.
The problem is, that the ESC is getting more and more popular and with every year there are more people who would like to attend it live. It's frustrating to know that you'll probably never be able to experience the whole thing at first hand because the venues are getting smaller and the tickets are sold out within a few minutes.

I didnt watch in 2001 but you're right about 2012, it seemed dead. Though I thought that was more to do with the very fake/plastic Azeri hosting of the Contest, I mean for instance it was big arenas in Athens and Moscow and the atmosphere seemed great!

I thought each tube was supposed to light up? They don't look like they'll be able to!

I think it's just the end of them, by looks of that picture. Which is a shame because I also thought the whole thing was suppose to light up.

I think we'll just have to wait and see, if Sietse Bakker says the stage is going to be fantastic it probably is going to be fantastic  Honestly I'm also quite underwhelmed atm, but I think it looks worse that it actually will turn out to be.

I remember that last years stage in Copenhagen got bad response on forehand too but when the rehearsals began the tables turned

It's like that every year. (at least with me)
Now I'm thinking things like:
- oh the arena looks so small
- no catwalk ... meh
- how the hell will they manage to get a 44 m stage into that small thing
- how will this bridge between the green-room and the stage work? It will totally block the views.
..... and so on.

And when the first Semifinal is on, I'll most likely say those things:
"WOW this is so amazing. I want to be on that stage now! I wish I could be there"

But tbh last years stage is almost unbeatable imho.

I'd sooner trust the opinion of a goldfish than Sietse Bakker but you're probably right haha
