And (so far) i know the contest from 1980 and was never higher than 6th for me (1996)

Just listened to the song, and I'm not really getting the hype over it so far. It's certainly not bad, but on first and second listen it just sounds like generic radio pop song #1624. Could improve with a new version.

Are we listening to the same song? I find it super repetitive and just a normal bog standard pop song. There is nothing extroidanary about this song at all and if it wins I will eat my own hat. I think it's alright, I'm glad it's nothing like her normal music which is just so boring. I feel kinda let down to be honest though still because its not as good as previous efforts. The Netherlands appears to be the hype country this year...

Edit: also they seemed and tried to force the catchiness onto it with the whole i i i i i iii bit and it just doesn't seem to have worked at all.

I will need to listen more as well, but on the night the viewers only get the 1 listen. Maybe they will pull it out the bag with the staging?
