The moral winner in my eyes. It came 2nd with its own value, with no gimmick at all like the winner. It was all about the song and the simple performance. But I'm very happy for it, it was one of the only songs that touched me this year. xheart

Please tell me, where Conchitas Performance had gimmicks and all that stuff? She just stood there and sang - nothing else. So what about Greece, Romania, Montenegro, Russia, Montenegro, Denmark... just to name a few. Even Germany had more gimmicks with that paper flying around.

The Netherlands even had a speciial effect with their black and white colouring, tnhat was more "gimmick" than Conchita.

Apart from that, I found the Netherland HIGHLY overrated, I don't like the song, but I accept, that many people like it, so if a song is liked by so many people who obviously have the same taste of music, it has to be honored and you can be proud being 2nd.

I don't find what's great about this song that it got 2nd place.
That's my honest opinion, need enlightenment from the fans.

The Netherlands is sooooooooooo on the right track and I'm literally in shock. Years after years I have experienced the Netherlands sending awful songs and then all of a sudden these last two years we see quality. Now I believe that someday this contest can be brought to Amsterdam!

I think Austria had a well deserved win. Show Business, whether it's inside or outside Eurovision has become more and more visual as time passes and that is normal. Look at Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry etc. etc. It has always been more bussiness than show and Conchita played it smart and put on a very detailed act with a greatly produced song to win. I think second is the best result the Netherlands could have ever hoped for with the Common Linnets and for the second time in a row I am incredibly proud of our entry, and I think secretly every Dutch person is. I'd much rather send songs and performers like this every year to charm Europe and to (re-)introduce different kinds of music than put on an act. Bravo, I say.

By the time this song came on, me and my friends were slightly drunker, so when this (personal opinion) dreary country ballad started, we all started trying to alter the lyrics with cliched Country & Western style lyrics...

"My husband, he has left me...
And my car is outta gas
I'm drinking all his moonshine
He was such a royal ass..."

Good memories...
Sweden deserved 2nd more IMHO, but I guess this song stood out stylistically and spoke to wide spectrum of demographics across Europe. xshrug

YAAAAY for the Common Linnets.

I didn't believe in the song at first, but yesterday I got blown away by them. I LOVED it, in my opinion the best of the evening, haha.
Didn't like the number one, but that's more 'cause I don't like the type of song. I get why it's the winner and I'm proud of our second place. YAY.

Would be a great winner. Definitely the best from those who where at the top and fought for the win. :D
Lovely song and excellent performance. xlove xclap xcheer

It wasn't a song I voted for, but proud that Latvia gave its :12: points to :nl:. xclap

I was supporting this entry last night. Voted for it too. I do love me some Country music, and that was an example of how to do it right. I would have liked to have gone to Amsterdam 2015.

I had no idea the guy's name was Waylon. Was he born with that name or is he a Waylon Jennings fan (similar hat too)?
