Yeah, but not that high, never at one on ITunes esctracker...and never at first at top10 in so many countrys unlike the 2th and Thirt Aram and Sanna...they are doing better then Anouk did last year!

Nevertheless, I think both :nl: and :se: has great chances of finishing in top 5, maybe even win

I still think Anouk had the better song&act. But it was too demanding for the common audience. The Linnets have a definite advantage there, they connect much better. So no surprise if they place better than Anouk, but for a win they also need some luck. The top field is to tight.

In a parallel universe, then. xcookie

But they are both in the parallel universe, have you watched performances of the 1st semi carefully, sisters on the machine go up and down, and Ilse and this man on the road in front of each other, everything is parallel, this is year of a DUO!! xlove xheart xkiss

And from Amsterdam to Moscow, we are singing as one clan!! xlove

I never thought of that... But why not ?

Why do I think the Netherlands can win the Eurovision Song Contest 2014?
wapper.gif

1. The Common Linnets set a new standard.
2. Compared to their performance, the performances of some other countries now looks like some kind of gimmick.
3. Because they were considered to be a dark horse for a long time they are able to make use of the element of surprise.
4. Their performance is stunning, personal and full of emotions.
5. The song is of a high quality, as are their voices.
6. For 3 minutes people at home forget they are watching the Eurovision Song Contest.
7. Allready before the first semi-final, Calm after the Storm was expected to collect most of the jury votes.
8. In the final The Common Linnets perform in the second part of the show.
9. Long before the first semi-final the song was considered to be a 'grower', and now the song is 'growing' on a lot of people in Europe.
10. I read somewhere that a mother of someone has predicted the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest for a few years in a row correctly. When she heard Calm after the Storm for the first time on the radio she immediately said this song will win the song contest this year.

To be honest, I think that a lot of (mostly Dutch) people are getting way ahead of themselves. I don't think this song will win, because Sweden and Armenia are both doing extremely well. A top 5 or 10 place is likely though.

Don't get me wrong, I loved this song at first listen and this is one of my favorite Dutch eurovision entries (I even prefer this song to last years 'Birds'), but we shouldn't get carried away. If we win though, I will literally cry out of joy.

I prefer the more unknowing from this year, more then last year when weeks before the contest the winner was already known:)
