lol, all the years, if someone had a great voice or overdramatic staging like Sheldon last year or Gjon‘s tears or Azerbaijan last year all people went „it’s not about the voice!!! It’s not a voice contest!!! It’s not about massive props on stage!!! It’s not a prop contest!!! It’s not about the tears and dramatic hand gestures!!! It’s a contest of the overall package!!!“

But now a mediocre Loreen performs and of course, exceptions are made for "the Queen“.

To me Loreen is 5 points at best in either song, voice or performance. Overhyped, as much as the Finnish entry.

Not my evening tonight! :ROFLMAO:

Sheldon was inside my Bottom 5 - and I even got goosebumps when he performed in the semi final (it was a vocally outstanding performance and somehow I even liked the "mask reveal").

Loreen´s "Tattoo", however, is still very impactful as a studio version.
It´s not the most brilliant track on Earth but it makes you want to listen to it again and again and again and again because it´s basically just a huge and massive built-up (which needs a a last additional chorus to fully explode) but the most visiually stunning performance of the decade made up for it.

Loreen is literally in a league of her own, but that's not hard considering how bad this MF was.

It just has to be her...

Omg that crappy Melodifestivalen milked down rock quota song that sounds like a cheap vanilla Linkin Park demo thing, can we not?

I feel sorry for Signe & Hjördis, nothing groundbreaking, but at least some sort attempt at Swedish ethno-Pop which of course SVT did dirty...

Anyways, go Loreen ! xcheer

But seriously if MF will continue like this there is no point in it any longer, everything has been so bland, generic, by the book and forgettable.

sorry i can understand if the song or whatever is not somebodys taste, BUT: there is NO WAY this voice is described as mediocre

Loreen is a great live singer, I think the "haters" are just trying to pick whatever thing they can come up with... if someone doesn't like the song fine but to claim she is a bad live singer and performer like really?

Is the song groundbreaking? No, but it is literally the only good enough thing from this year's MF and still good compared to many other chosen entries for ESC this year.

I said it before and say it again, comparing her to 2012 makes no sense, it is this year's contest that matters for this entry... I never expected a new Euphoria level of entry, and that's fine. Tattoo is fine enough and again it's miles above the rest of MF'23 so we really have no other option imho (which is a bit sad but that's the state of MF these days).

Oh Tattoo is for sure the best pick for Sweden, but I'm not buying it as a runaway winner in Liverpool.

The only thing all the "tattoo is a meh song" comments prove is that Loreen is held to a mich higher standard then the rest, which only speak good for her.

Basic, not artistic enough... please. Someone point me to a more "artistic" song in Melfest this year, I'll wait.

It's clearly the best song here and I'm not even going to talk about that monster of a performance because Sweden does not have better.

Marcus & Martinus or Loreen, totally no-brainers here. I would prefer M&M after hearing both songs in studio and live.

Her song and vocals are all great, I just find it a little underwhelming as this is outdated in musical terms.

A lot.

This is the type of songs that Marija Šerifović from Serbia used to sing back in 2010's when she wanted to breakthrough to the disco scene.

I will not rate it not to be unfair. Because my subjective annoyance with lack of originality overshadows the objective quality.

If she wins I'll be fine with that, if she doesn't that would be fair as well.

Is this "the best song"? No. It's a standard power ballad song with possibly the best vocalist this year ESC will have.

Should that be the only reason for an entry to win? No. Not my vote.
