Well, there are some good ones this year but I agree it's a generally weak year which often means a surprise winner (for better or worse).

That's why I have a futile hope for an Australian win :D (why isn't Margaret or The Hardkiss here to save us?)

That wouldn't be a surprise now would it considering how hard EBU is pushing it? But it would definetely fit their agenda of killing ESC...

With "surprise winner" I think it's fair to say that I'm not referring to anyone who is currently top. 3 in the bettings... in other words not Russia, not Australia and not France... I know Ukraine is top. 3 in the betting but I don't see how tbh...

(pleasent) surprise winners would be Bulgaria, Latvia or Austria... I think especially the latter is the dark horse this year.

I would truly love Jamala to win.

I would truly love Jamala to win.

But why oh why those bad English parts... She should have done the verses in Ukrainian and keep the current Crimean-Tatar chorus... that would have sounded much better imo...

Well, Frans does nothing for me but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone despite feeling this way also wish Frans the very best, in Sweden and elsewhere. To be honest I'm struggling to find much excitement for any song this year. Unibet which have an annoying habit of always being right in their predictions, place Frans top 5, so there you have it.

Well i would be very happy for a top 5 place. :)
I don´t think we can win, but have read a few articles(not Swedish media) that speculating about a Swedish victory.

One thing is interesting though, Russia and Australia are doing best on Itunes, but right now Frans is scoring 3rd best in Europe. And note that both Russia and Australia have performed, while Frans only have showed a minute form a rehearsal.
Frans also is nr 1 on Spotify (quite expected) and in top 5 in odds.

So i think we can expect a good place tonight, but of course you never know with Eurovision, mabye we flop?
But even if we fail to be in top 5 or even top 10, i would´t be disappointed. In the last 5 years we have done amazing.

2011: 3rd
2012: 1st
2013: 14th (3rd with jury) Host
2014: 3rd
2015: 1st

So like i said i would accept a weaker year and then we can win next year.;)

A flop would indeed be a truly epic flop! Thinking about it that would maybe be for the best because it would solve the dead end situation which Frans pushed Melodifestivalen into. Everyone can again in the best spirit plan and execute amazing overthetop song and dance acts to next year's mello.

Can't believe how much this has grown on me in such a short space of time. I really like Frans' voice, it's very distinctive, the song is totally modern and just what Eurovision needs, and the staging is fantastic. Go Sweden!

Final Verdict
:se:
12 points
Position I want: Third
Position I think: 13th

I think Sweden will finish a lot higher than 13th.

This song is still a huge mystery to me. 5th place. Hmpf! It must be a collective love for Sweden as a nation, Frans is just a representative.

Tbh I was sure that he would win the televoting since he does extremely well with the itunes-charts.

Oh come on, I really don't think people pick up the vote and vote because "its Sweden".

All down my Twitter, people either seemed to love Frans, or hate him. And I think that is an accurate assessment of the song. He did well, I'm glad he came 5th. I do wonder if we'll see more "stripped back" songs next year now.

I'm surprised it went so well for us, despite sending the worst song in our entire history throughout this contest...

Thanks to all the jury and everyone who voted for Ukraine. I am convinced that Eurovision 2017 in Ukraine ( Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa) will be gorgeous!

you're welcome
