I think Latvia, Lithuania and the UK (and obviously Sweden) will profit out of the lack of Nordics. Not sure about Australia though - do the Vikings usually go for ballads??

Re: SWEDEN 2016

Honestly the worst entry we have sent.. We should've sent Wiktoria, in my opinion, or Robin Bengtsson.

Australia is spot on. I've looked at the common Swedish polls (which of course changes every minute) and Australia is leading all that I've seen. The SVT poll for example:
Dami Im – ”Sound of Silence” 20%
Frans – ”If I Were Sorry” 18%
Michał Szpak – ”Color Of Your Life” 10%
Amir – ”J'ai cherché” 9%
etc

I'm a bit surprised about Poland and would think it should be Serbia instead in the above poll. Unfortunately France seem failing to fly but the preq have as usual not getting exposed enough I think. All speculation of course.

Wiktoria turned out to be a little bitch in Inför ESC, mumbling barely hearable snubbings to the others  (a pretty one though)

I just don't understand the picks for the panel for Inför ESC, 3 artists from this years finals? And then they're gonna judge Frans? Of course they're gonna give him 10, they have to, otherwise they'll look bitter!

Yes pretty random but they have diaspora here
I never thought of that... but I didn't expect Poland to be in the top.

I actually think that this might be one of the biggest Swedish flops ever. Nordic countries are doing very poorly this year and this song has a lot of haters. Personally I like it but I can see it ending up on the right hand side of the scoreboard.

It actually really doesn't matter how much "haters" a song has. They are not the ones who will vote for it, for example I also think Conchita had plenty of haters, but she still won. I think the one sided fan view is way to strong here, if we look outside the fan bubble I think this is actually a contender for the win for the generic viewer. My family and girlfriend all really liked the preview and I still think it's a good song and different enough to stand out despite being low key. I'll make the prediction Sweden will end up top 5 easily, although it probably won't win, I'm very afraid this "honor" will go to Russia.

He will certainly profit from the fact that he will be the only Scandinavian entrant in the final. How much that can help, we will see. The song is quite good for me, so it might do better than many expect definetly.

Well this year Swedens entry is not that good...... so I expect 8 points from Denmark

It doesn't work that way, none of the Nordics will vote for each other just out of friendship. It needs to be something substantial to back. On the other hand if you have something good you can usually rely on the other Nordics for support. So I agree with cassio, Frans can probably count on an 6-8-10p from the Nordics, but I still think the 12p's goes to Australia.

This is still so bleak, I think we'll flop tbh... deservingly so.

Melodifestivalen 2016 >>>> Eurovision 2016 as far as songs go... but then we ended up choosing this bore?

Can't believe how much this has grown on me in such a short space of time. I really like Frans' voice, it's very distinctive, the song is totally modern and just what Eurovision needs, and the staging is fantastic. Go Sweden!

Final Verdict
:se:
12 points
Position I want: Third
Position I think: 13th

Apparently Justin Timberlake out of the blue looked up Frans in Globen yesterday and said:
- "Did you write your song? I love it! It's an amazing song."
leaving a starstrucked Frans overjoyed. :Dxballonxballon

I love how sure Swedish media is of itself, it's a bit cute and in the same time deluding, I mean none of them really think we can win but "Frans charming Europe" and "Frans' charm"... what am I missing here? The guy has zero appeal and charm is like the last thing he has... oh well, each to their own xshrug

That's what I wrote, they don't write that we will win but they still think Frans' supposed unexisting "charm" will manage to "charm" atleast enough voters for us to end up top. 10

Well, Frans does nothing for me but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone despite feeling this way also wish Frans the very best, in Sweden and elsewhere. To be honest I'm struggling to find much excitement for any song this year. Unibet which have an annoying habit of always being right in their predictions, place Frans top 5, so there you have it.

Well, there are some good ones this year but I agree it's a generally weak year which often means a surprise winner (for better or worse).
