Winning isnt everything, and it is not as if Sweden hasnt won before or even fairly recently!
I don't agree, I for one will not be happy if her naive behavior caused us the victory. Obviously it won't be HER fault, but she should understand the context she's in.
That's the reason I dont want the Arabic and North African nations in Eurovision. We'd have the problems of Azerbaijan multiplied. What happens with the Arab Spring is nothing to do with Eurovision. What happens in Azerbaijan is now to do with Eurovision, particularly as the regime is trying to bombard us with their sh*tty propaganda. We must not stand for it!
You didn't get my point, some of the criticism towards Azerbaijan is very black and white, I compared it to the others because, although it's not really comparable, it's still this type of blind criticism that turns these countries even worse.
I mean, I for one applaud secularism in Azerbaijan and the fact that radical muslim groups (unlike in the west) so far CAN'T use "democracy" as an excuse to radicalize the country.
I know this is off-topic, but I think that one should never fall into black and white ways of thinking. With this said, I do acknowledge the wrong-doings of this regime aswell and their behavior in Eurovision, but I don't think it's the time and place to go around like Loreen did, and yeah I think this might prevent us from winning. And yes, she IS there to compete in music, not to make political statements (which thankfully she didn't explicitly do, but nevertheless the damage has been done anyways).
I mean instead she should have gone promoted herself on Azeri TV or something (like some of the other contestants have done), instead of going to these groups. Oh well. We will see the outcome on Saturday and if it'll be used against her.
I hope they see it for what it was: field-trips.. and not some active political statements.
