Couldn't be happier at least one of the boring songs flopped (the worse ones, namely Cyprus & Israel didn't, though :( ). It wasn't a bad performance, though.

Who's the master of predicting how well Sweden will do? I am!

No I AM! :D
I said she sounded like a goat and that the song was a sleeping pill... But don't be sorry my fellow Swedes. We still have four Swedish songs in the final - Norway, Denmark, Ireland and Azerbaijan! :D

it's just weird not having sweden in the finals.
I think I read somewhere that if Sweden doesn't make it, it will be the first time in, like, 56 or some odd years that we haven't been in the final.

Take that Swedish people. Stop voting forth garbage songs simply because they are being performed by singers you like. Nobody is going to care about our Swedish celebrity singers since almost none of them have an international career, especially not Swedish Idol contestants from the same year!

I should start betting on Eurovision more. I could make a fortune betting on Sweden's placings alone.

The Swedish people simply have no idea of how to vote forth a winner. Last year, "Snälla, Snälla" almost won.

And I don't like any of them lol
No votes coming to either of them from me.

Go Romania, Go Turkey, Go Belgium!

I honestly liked the performance you guys are being too harsh on yourselves. I totally ignored this song till today .. it happens with me a lot lol. I ignored the Moldovan song last year untill the semi final day where I totally fell in love with it. Speaking of love at first sight

but just like Dessi said, you still have lot's of swedish produced songs in the final. ;)

Sweden really dropped the ball on the glowsticks BTW. Why did they have them light them at the very start of the song? It made almost no difference since the cameras then switched from the audience to the stage, which was lit in red as well, thus making the impact the glowsticks had on the stage minimal.

It would've been much better if they'd had the audience light the glowsticks at the start of the 2nd verse or the bridge, with the camera showing Anna from behind and a sea of glowsticks emerging in the crowd. That would've been much more exciting and dazzling.

It seems the Swedish delegations simply does not know how to put up a good show despite being made up of purported "professionals". Bah, bring in a random gay guy with a flair for the fabulous (like me!) any day over SVT's "professionals".

Turkey I can agree with, but Ukraine is still in my bottom 5, maybe bottom 8 since there are other songs like less.

Always got the feeling, that I've heard the song some time before ... :?:

Naa, sorry Sweden. I really love the country, but the song wasn't so great and Anna was like a broom stick on stage.

Well compared to the UK you're spoilt for choice... We got the song thrust upon us, but at least we were able to choose the singer. He's great, but the song's a washout.

Anna's song was fine, it was a total anomaly that Sweden went out now. I think a lot of people must have thought, 'oh, they're safely through, so I'll vote for someone else'.

After the performance, I turned to my wife and said "there's your winner!". How wrong I was...

Ok, regarding Christer Björkmans staying or not.
At the poll at aftonbladet.com 77% out of 13,5k want him to leave.

I agree we are spoiled, quite a few of out rejects would have rocked the stage if Josh had gotten them I believe.

I agree. This is happening every single year. Get rid of Björkman and those "professionals". And don't ever let the people decide again. PLEASE. Do something different. Let the international jury chose all the songs out of the 3000 songs being sent in every year! :D

Or just have our regular 11 jury groups plus international juries.
But we should send for foreign help during the song selection process.

That's an interesting point - the Flemish did that for a while, and the foreign judges were spot on: they pointed out that "O Julissi" by Ishtar in 2008 was a non-runner, despite everyone else saying it was a surefire winner (including me!).

So maybe outside influence does help...

[About Josh, he's been on the BBC all evening helping out the commentators. He was delightful - the boy's got a future!]

You wanna know something funny? Twice now entries that Christer Björkman shut out of Melodifestivalen have gone on to win national finals overseas and then went on to further get better results than Sweden.

The first one was "Wolves of the Sea" for Latvia in 2008 (a total joke, but still) and the second one was Denmark's "In a Moment Like This". Good show, Björkman! Because, really, "In a Moment Like This" was clearly worse than "Idiot" with teeny boppers Noll Disciplin.

How is Christer Björkman still allowed to be the dictator of Melodfestivalen? He chooses which entries get into the contest, he chooses which entries perform in which slots and he chooses how the entries are presented at Eurovision. And he fails every single year!

As a young man of 25 years old with absolutely no training besides 3 years of choir in High School, I could do a much better job! Just read my post above about the glowsticks. Who are these people who keep dropping the ball on the even the most trivial issues as when the glowsticks should be lit for the best results?! And why aren't they fired yet?! Hire me! Heck, I'll work for free as long as I get to save Sweden from itself!

I have consistently predicted Sweden's results (not down to the exact spot, but pretty close) for the past 6 years and that's just because I'm a thinking person who knows how to analyze voting patterns, voting trends and pan-European musical tastes. Clearly, Christer Björkman lacks such insight!

Time and time again he chooses only songs which he and the Swedish people like for Melodifestivalen (and often throw in a few bullshitty entries to make the contest more "diverse" despite knowing that no one will vote for them, but wishing only to give off the illusion of musical diversity. "Idiot" before "In a Moment Like This". Come on!). And it consistently fails.

Wake up Sweden. Wake up Christer Björkman. Elect a new First Gay Dude. Preferably me.

Sweden did get outside help both this year and last year - the international jury. And they didn't put Anna in the top. But the Swedish people didn't care about the international jury...

The teleovting process in MF needs to change. Don't distribute fixed points based on position. Use the percentage of the votes received.
