If he brings the same fun and energy to the Eurovision stage as here and is not hurt by the running order, that's easily top 10 material

I love how many are saying this will open the show. First of all, what if it's drawn second half? Secondly, Spain were given 2nd last year. No way in hell they are given 1st this year.

So you're saying they don't make the order according to the kind of songs that are going to be performed - only by the history at which spots the countries have performed already? I think it would be a great opener song. Also, I don't care at which spot they've performed in 2012

Latvia opened in 2013 and was then 2nd in 2014. Romania closed the semis in both 2013 and 2014, Spain was 19 in 2014, 21 in 2015 and 19 again in 2016 xshrug That part is irrelevant, as it could quite possibly happen. Previous years positions aren't even considered. Obviously it could draw 2nd half, but if it got 1st half it seems like a great choice to open, it's big fun and gets the party started.

It would kill it stone dead though, so that doesn't really make it a good opener. Also, the opening song doesn't have to be up tempo. Putting one of the favourites to win on first would be interesting.

I can definitely see this being a great performance song, not too crazy about it tho.

Not my favorite in the selection.

This is very lively, he has a perfect acting, and leaves everything on stage ... and I like this :)

The rest is Ok, overall I like the music, I'm afraid that in May I'm a bit fed up with it,for now I really enjoy hearing this, so for now 7 points !

I preferred Sabela, but I'm happy with this choice (it was my 2 or 3)

Muy buena suerte país hermano xheart

A great winner from Spain, I assume, "La venda" will be played a lot at Euroclub Tel Aviv :-) 12 points from me.

I'm curious how they're going to stage this. With a more polished staging that brings out the message and attitude of the song, it could be mind blowing and top 5. The NF staging looked like "Cake to Bake" which is terrible. As for the song, i like that they finally send a song in this genre, which is long overdue instead of the pretentious pap they seem dedicated to, but the song itself isn't brilliant. The chorus has a certain strength, but i personally feel the song as a whole is too repetitive and could have been done better with. Performance is adequate i guess, he seems a bit off in the NF performance but that could be fixed.

Overall, don't think it'll make my top 10, or the actual one, but a decent effort and at the very least it adds some fun and ethnic color to the contest. Good luck!

La Venda is not my spanish favourite entry - far from so. But it was by far the best Spain had on offer.
As a song I would have preferred Todo Bien or Muerdeme. But after seing the live performances... no thanx.

Having that said; La Venda has got tons of charm! Miki I guess has some of the boyish looks and charm that voters may fall for. And the song and melody is catchy and instant enough to attract voters.
With a fun, though tasty, staging I think Spain might be able to squize into top 10. With a standard TVE staging, on the other hand, Spain will again end up on the right side of the scoreboard.

I don't expect it anywhere near the top 10! However it will maybe a great, fun song among other quiet songs in the final!

A song that can succeed in Tel Aviv in my opinion. The Israeli audience loves a song like this.

Gracias Spain for not messing it up FOR ONCE!
La Venda was the best choice among the options.
I think it can achieve a Laura Tesoro effect, wake people up after dozens of ballads and gather many douze points both from jury and televotes.
