A pretty good winner, all things considered! 6 points from me for now.

I'm not a fan of how repetitive it gets towards the end, but it's a big bundle of catchy fun and there's huge potential to go big with the staging here. Of course, being Spain, the question is whether they'll actually make use of that potential...

This song is upbeat and makes me want to move. Surprisingly good song from Spain, certainly better than last year's snoozefest.

THE GOOD:
-It's a good crowd participation song.
-With the right staging, it might have a bigger net to attract people with.

-NOTEWORTHY (MIGHT BE GOOD, MIGHT BE BAD):
-This is the third entry in a row Spain has sent that I can envision hearing in a restaurant.

THE BAD:
-I think Spain has missed the mark if they wanted to go for a winning song with an old sound. They might not even gotten the latter right, much less the former.
-It also gets a bit repetitive.

THE VERDICT:
If Spain wants to win with this song in 2019, they'll have to do a lot. They'll also have to do it fast. It's a good song, overall, but the staging of it in Tel Aviv is going to be as important, if not more, as the song itself. Even then, there's a slim-to-none chance that this song will win. 7 points

Didn't watch the show (might have a look at the other songs tomorrow) so can't comment on the competition, but I like this! I think it will be popular at Eurovision! From me, I give 7 points for now!

Staging for this has to include a lot of crowd camera shots and opening the crowd mic.

Good show, most of the songs were generic. As for La venda, it's not at all my type of song, but 20 seconds in and I already loved it. The chorus is instantly memorable.

8 points for the moment, with a possible upgrade later on.

We're 2 for 2 so far for good songs going to Eurovision!

This was definitely one of the tracks that stood out when I heard the studio versions, and it's a fun party-starter that will certainly catch people's attention in the live final. Will leave my ranking predictions until we know more songs, but nice choice Spain and I wish you your best result since Pastora Soler xup

WELL i was almost looking forward to muerdeme's seemingly inevitable victory because a) i wanted to see the most miserable person in the world in the eurovision experience because imagine how maria's interviews in tel aviv would be xheart, and b) the craycray spanish eurofans would die as muerdeme placed bottom 3 in the final and i am always always down to see the insane spanish eurofans dying because it'swhatshedeserves.gif.

instead, that was exchanged for a bit of the insane spanish eurofans dying right now (a MAN being picked in a SPANISH NF!!!! and it wasn't even rigged this time!!!!!!!!!! delicious) and a much better song than muerdeme from a much more cooperative performer. if brazil was in eurovision somehow we would 100% give la venda our televote 12 because not since quero ser tua we have had such a brazilian-sounding entry. i actually grew to like it now!!!! i gave it 8 points in the poll, 8 more than i expected to give to spain this year.

howeverrrr that performance as it currently stands would be nul pointed by the eurovision juries faster than you can say "manel's bum note outsold", and tve being the devilish hellchannel that it is, i don't see it changing much. it's too bad because a good channel could make this work for a top 15ish placement. still, it's good that spain didn't turn out to be that much of a disaster in the end.

at least bjorkman already has his grand final opener for the running order instead of fucking over a semifinal favourite lol.

This sounds more brazilian than spanish, actually.

Only heard it today and it's already stuck in my head. I like it and gave it an 8 for now.

I don't think this will flop as hard as many hope it does. This could appeal to a wide audience, and I'll most likely vote for it. I'm so happy that Spain made the right choice! :D

Natalia didn't wanna go to Israel, María didn't either, and it showed during her performance. She was basically me when they forced me to write this boring ass essay.

can we discuss just how terrible maria was in her performance, though? i think ping pong back in 2000 were more into it than she was today. it was an inspiration, really. i will remember that performance for years to come. everything was just so deliberately, unapologetically, iconically TRASH (favourite part: when the stupid break kicks in and she just walks to that fake balcony with her eyes begging for the sweet release of death). i kind of respect her for it because nobody is happier that she managed to burn down her natural advantage of being an eurofan favourite than herself.

Huh, we have another song. Interesting. And it has those instruments, and yet...

Anyway, my expectations were in the crapper, as I recall pretty thoroughly giving up on this NF. But I don't hate this at all. There's something about that crazy tempo and his very clear not-ready-for-primetime-ness that I actually find kind of intriguing and a little enjoyable. The "oh-oh-oh"s that permeate the song are kind of obnoxious; thank god they're kind of sparse. Also, Spain, please don't revamp. Any kind of revamp would take away anything interesting in this song, I reckon.

I'll wait to vote until I clear my feelings about how much my enjoying this is just disaster avoidance vs. actually enjoying the song. First thought is 6-7 and probably higher than Albania (my growth journey with that has topped out at "it's ok").

It is very catchy and the atmosphere is great in the performance I've seen. But I can see the song flop in the final for being "one of the many" genre and I am pretty sure the crowd and the energy the performance gives won't be like it on the Eurovision stage. Still will be one of my favourites for sure.
