Have you ever watched Enrique Iglesias live? He CAN'T sing at all.
He is one of those singers that I can't understand his success.... :?

BTW Enrique would never win a Spanish NF. I don't think Spanish public would vote for him :p

Re: SPAIN 2012

Enrique Iglesias is famous, but he can't sing well... and we all know that you won't be successful in ESC just for being a well-known singer. There we have good examples like Dana Internacional this past ESC'11 (good song, but very very poor live vocal performance), Kate Ryan or even Blue.

Anyway, we need a good song and of course a good singer. Look at Anabel Conde and "Vuelve conmigo". The live performance of this song is far better than the studio version, not only for the new music arrangements they made but thanks to her incredible voice.

Just compare both... Live >>>> Studio

We couldn't have finished at second position without her amazing perfomance, I'm pretty sure of this.

Re: SPAIN 2012

^ ESC is not an idol competition. In fact, there are many winning songs that were performed vocally quite poorly. Blue got a very huge amount of votes, so what do you expect? Vuelve comigo placed high because it was a good song that was sugary and memorable enough to convince the jurors. There is no big difference but I slightly prefer the studio version which sounds a little more sensitive to me. Enrique knows how to give an impressive stage performance what – at least with an uptempo song – pays off to a greater extent.

Of course, Vuelve Conmigo is an awesome song. Now, put Erinque singing this song. 2nd place?? I bet my balls he didn't.

But you put the fame who he have (And means a lot of votes on the televotes) & add the fact that it is a good song and the jury will like it singing badly or not ;) ....you must look to Lena and Eric Sade :)

Re: SPAIN 2012

Lena's vocals were less than perfect indeed, but she was charming and she has undeniable talent. So it is true that vocals only play a small part in the final outcome: Blue's vocals were very average (even bad when it comes to Lee Ryan's high notes) but they ended up in 5th place (televote). I wouldn't ascribe Dana International's failure to reach the final to her vocals only; even before the semi-final her song was lambasted as outdated and her eviction was predictable.

I needed to watch the whole performance first but once again do not forget about the fame factor. In any ways, he most likely would not present a female ballad but a contemporary (probably slight ethnic or not) dance tune accompanied with an energetic choreography. My balls I bet that it would score extremely well. However, I do not think he will do it as he is too successful right now.

I know he is popular. But he doesn't sell many albums in Spain.

He's a VERY bad singer and can't sing well. He is famous cause he got people who wrote for him kinda good commercial song, all because of his father (who can't sing well either BTW).

Las Ketchup were also popular and they failed. I don't want someone popular, I want someone good and that's not Enrique, be sure about that ;)

I guess that he is more focused on his international career than to continue to sells his albuns in the motherland, cause ours don't pay him enough for it xshrug

Enrique can sing so bad for you (Although for me her voice is sensual and acceptable), but nobody will take the fact that when his disk out, it is number one everywhere in the world and here in Europe too

Them many Spainch eurofans are anchored to live in the Swedish Schlager - (Which always wins or looks good on Second Chances, but when in the festival itself almost don't do nothing) and in the female victories of the passed eras  as you make a idea that what im talking.

And Las Ketshup just was had her only & one moment of glory with Asereje, but was a Summer hit passenger, but that it... xbikexpuke Don't forget that TVE was select hers without consulting the pepole with a song inglorious and forgetful and staging to sleep and go to the bathroom, if was another country like Ukraine or Sweden where taken this really seriously Eurovision, none of this had happened. But the truth are that ours Spainch don't even know what they want to be successful in Eurovision without risking

Re: SPAIN 2012

Our partner website eurovision-spain ran a special poll in order to find out who would be the favourite and ideal artist to represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. For the 2nd year running Chenoa is the hot favourite to represent Spain at Europe's favourite television show. Chenoa shot to fame in Spain back in 2001 when she competed in the first edition of Operacion Triunfo.
Since her Operacion Triunfo days the Spanish artist has come a long way, enjoying much success and fame on home soil. She is among most sought after and celebrated young artists in Spain today. Eurovision fans will be familiar with Chenoa as she was one of he finalists in the first edition of Operacion Triunfo along with David Bustamante, David Bisbal, Rosa. If she goes to Eurovision it won't be the first time she graces the Eurovision stage as in 2002 she was one of the backing vocalists for Rosa in Tallinn at the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest.

Our partner website eurovision-spain ran a poll to evalaute who would be the fans favourite to represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. Chenoa is one more time the hot favourite popular choice, closely followed by Soraya Arnelas ( Spain 2009) in 2nd place and Malu who is the 3rd favourite.

A total of 336 Spanish artists and candidates were shortlisted in an internal selection, where a special internal jury shortlisted the candidates to 100. This jury was composed by 7 members of eurovision-spain and 3 special guests representing AEV Spain, esctoday.com and eurovision.tv. Hence a body of 10 jury members shorlisted the list to 100. The Spanish fans then got the chance to vote for their favourite acts through a long process which included 10 semifinals, a second chance round and a grand finale. A total of 268,280 votes were cast during the voting.

This news has taken the Spanish media by storm yet again as most of the top Spanish news web portals and newspapers have echoed this snippet about Chenoa. Abc.com, vertele.com, lavozlibre.com, ADN, intereconomia, europapress.es are among the many news agencies and websites reporting this news. Will Chenoa represent Spain in Baku?

The top 10 results

01: CHENOA: 3.429 votes
02: Soraya Arnelas: 3.224 votes
03: Malú: 3.090 votes
04: Mirela: 3.009 votes
05: Merche: 2.658 votes
06: Rosa: 2.625 votes
07: Rocío Rivas: 2.480 votes
08: David Bustamante: 2.448 votes

Re: SPAIN 2012

Actually Chenoa said that she WOULD LIKE to represent Spain at ESC, but it's not her choice. Not sure she means that her company doesn't allow her to go to ESC or it's because of how TVE is doing the pre-selections.

And BTW Camela is in the list???? WTF
