Please, "scandal" in Slovenia? tuorem EscGeek

https://www.rtvslo.si/svet-zabave/e...om-na-emi-zmago-bi-si-zasluzila-raiven/480342

Basically after they announced the winners and Lea Sirk handed them the trophy, she turned to Raiven and said "f*ck, I can't f*cking believe it" while her microphone was still on.

Later on she said that she said that because she really couldn't f*cking believe it that Raiven didn't win since she was her favourite. And also added that people (still not sure which people she meant) should go and f*ck themselves.

Lea was in her feelings and she said what she said and that's okay. She obviously isn't that bitter about Sebi considering she put it in the superfinal herself.

THE GOOD:
-The instrumentals and the vocals are good.
-Overall, I appreciate this song's somewhat simplistic sound.

THE BAD:
-For me, personally, this song never goes anywhere. Does this thing even move?
-Also a kind of meek stage presence, too.

THE VERDICT:
Of the four songs revealed yesterday, this song is kind of a let down. It's not bad, mind you, but it's also not great, either. If it weren't for me appreciating the song's sound, I'd say that the song is kinda average. For me right now, this song is in the middle of the pack. That means that it can get better with either emphasizing its simplistic sound or making the performers have a stronger stage presence. 7 points

This is what I imagine Salvador and his sister would come up with if they had to play on Netta's looper

This song is so so so beautiful. I heard that it had potential when I heared the clip, but now when I hear it in full and see their tender performance, I just fall for it completly. I have also now read the translation of the lyrics and it makes me almost want to cry, I so recognize myself in these lyrics. This is really a song for those who are in love, but feel that they aren't good enough or feeling worthy of getting loved back, hearing her sing is like hearing my own boyfriends words, only in Slovenian. Fantastic entry IMO and I hope that RTVSLO can elavate this in Tel Aviv (I know that Slovenia is among the worst ones when it comes to make stages for Eurovision, but this time it shouldn't be as hard, right?)

Carian, I have never said that Raiven is a star in Slovenia. I personally think that if an artist competes at EMA and by some chance wins, their career goes downhill pretty soon (I think the only exeption to this was Nuša Derenda) and I also think Slovenia doesn't have stars, only well known personas. So to me, outside Eurovisoin community, Raiven is not a star (sorry, Raiven fans) and EMA has never been a competition that showed current music trends in Slovenia. As for the part where I wrote about her promotion this year... Yes, you're absolutely right, outside social media and Eurovision community she didn't get any extra promotion. It was mainly focused to social media, especially Instagram. Maybe some second class/Perez Hilton type websites wrote articles about her, but other than that, nothing.

What I meant was that yes, RTV SLO really pushed her this year and picked an act with lesser chances to compete against her (as you also implied in your post, which I agree 100% with). If you only look at selected participants and comments on Slovenian forums, most of them were complete no names (at least to me) and people thought this as well. Also, my personal opinion of why people didn't choose Raiven and thus voting "against Kaos" is in the viewers of EMA. Unlike most ESC fans most of them heard the songs for the first time yesterday and maybe thought it was too advanced for Slovenia or just didn't understand the song in general (like I wrote in my first post, the cup of tea part). I still think this year RTV SLO really wanted to send Raiven, seeing they missed oportunities to do so in 2016 and 2017 and did everything in their power to make that happen this year. Except that people thought different and (I sincerely apologize for my language) screwed RTV SLO just as RTV SLO has been screwing with the viewers for years.

Also, don't think I personally think Zala&Gašper won only because of this. I am sure people voted for them because they liked their song (I find their song very calming and interesting) and if I'd voted esterday, I'd vote for them. But it would just be interesting to find out how many people voted for them because they were fed up with RTV's forcing of Raiven (as I implied above).

It's not the first time people have chosen an "outsider" song over a favourite. 1998, 2005, 2008, 2010 are the preselections where that happened and I can think of right now. Or maybe I am completely wrong and the reason for this years outcome is something completely else.

But I am no expert, just a girl who has her opinion on things. And I do hope I explained some things better now :)

Ok, Kaja, so basically we speak the same language, and I apologize if I misunderstood some of your comments, but you have to understand that I was reading your post in the context of ESC United forum perception. In any case, I am glad we agree that Raiven is not a star in Slovenia (or well known persona as you said it) and that Raiven actually has more fans among ESC fans than in Slovenia

So, gurl, keep preaching the gospel!

Melania Trump is a Slovenian star, not just a well-known persona ;)

Please, don't go there. She gave up Slovenian citizenship. She is not longer a Slovenian. And most certainly average Slovenian of her age here are not as full of botox as she is. Except Miša Molk

Drop politics, please.

Big stage in Tel Aviv will only add to the atmosphere of this song. When these two will show up on that big stage, all corky and scared-looking, they will look like lost in space trying to hold on before some force puls them apart :)

Generally speaking, my review of different comments, forums, and reactions says that people are either crazy in love or completely turned off, but many more are perplexed. They either like staging or they like the beat. But the best thing is that no-one is left cold. That's good, the song evokes something in viewers.

All in all, it is hard to say what will happen. In my opinion, it could go either way - it could be a total flop, or surprising top10. But surely, I can say that this is a song that I will listen even after ESC 2019, and I am sure it will become a huge hit in Slovenia.

Unfortunately, Raiven will never win when the public will chose with televoting. She is hated regardless of the song!
This song was too strong for the general Slovenian public, whoever will go against her will win the televoting.
Maybe RTVSLO was wrong to give her preference to her, the audience will never vote for her because they think "RTVSLO wants her, but we vote for the other".
People said that the song was bad, Crno Bel and Zazarim were better, but the same people let others win. They are never happy about the choices and the songs.
Raiven should stay out of the competition for at least 5 years, because people are bad with her, otherwise a change of regulation is needed (jury + televote), or an internal choice with songs from her album for the future. Yesterday I was nervous about the result of the televoting, because it was clear people voted Zala & Gasper, the same people would vote for anyone but not Raiven. tuorem

i didn't read the translated lyrics before this post because i just figured it was very romantic from camera work and stage attitude alone, but now i did and wow. absolutely stunning. i love this even more and it was already my #1 for the year so far. definitely the easiest raiven loss to swallow despite kaos being her best entry.

The show went so fast that I didn't have time to say how great it was in terms of production. There was no time for bs  the acts performed one after the other so quickly. I thought the stage was great, I didn't expect such an audience though: people were turnt up, which was nice for all acts. I also liked the graphics and visuals a lot, even though some acts clearly lacked creativity staging-wise.

Lea slayed her medley performance. I wasn't fond of the other guests, but overall, this was very enjoyable.

this NF format is pretty ass tbh. we thought it was made to crown raiven, but rtvslo should have expected something like this happening in a f2. they should go back to the 2017 format, two semis and a 50/50 final, and then mayyyybe a superfinal afterwards.

This is like We Don't Talk Anymore for esc. It's cute and Slovenia gave great stage performances in recent years so I don't doubt that this will look good and the song really needs it to stand out more. Poor Raiven ended up becoming this decade's Saša Lendero.

I was very confused after the first listen, but I will upgrade Slovenia from 5 to 12. I get winner vibes here.

For now it's a 6, but already on the second listen I really got into the song and how mysterious it is. With a good staging it could do really really well. I think I would upgrade my ranking in a few days.
