I agree. That's why I find this song winning a bit overrated. The composition is so simple, vocals are nothing special (it's basically speaking, not much melody) and the song is static for three minutes. I do appreciate it (especially the light beats), but not as much as many people do here. It's a matter of taste.

So not true..but OK.. :)

Saturday I was busy. Yesterday I checked out the winners. Still I've only watched and listened to Sebi once. I normally like melancholic, calm and even depressing songs. But this certainly didn't grab me. Too introvert, and the vocals were nothing special. But there was something there afterall - so maybe on a second or third listening I might warm up to it. My latina sister-in-law (that I am now introducing to our beloved contest) on the other hand, certainly didnt give this any credit at all. She couldnt stop laughing at how extremely bad she found this to be...
I am wondering what the general voter will think of this in May. A candidate for the top 10? Hardly....

Guys, I think you exagerate. Slovenia, my country, will probably have to wait another 30 years to win (like Portugal), but this year we certainly ain't gonna win. This said, however, I must say I do hope we qualify and get a decent final placement. Regarding the song, let me say only that in Slovenian it is a whole package to my ear - both music and lyrics compliment, elevate, and reinforce each other. And since majority of you aren't native speakers, it is beyond your grasp/hard to get the beauty of lyrics that are written in such refined and poetic, yet simple, meaningful words. I can assure you that I haven't heard something so simple, but pretty in a long time. So, yes, it may sound to you like whisperring, like mumbling etc., but when you understand what she is singing to him, it is just simply beautiful as it is.

On the other hand, today I went and I listened to the piano version of the song. I must say that the tune is beautiful on its own even in this version. It is as haunting and endearing as it is in their version. Take a look/give it a try:

Finally, as I already said somewhere else, I really don't care if anyone gives us points, if Zala and Gašper come last (and I doubt they will end last), I love the song and I am super happy they represent us with this simple gem. This song simply makes me feel calm and good, and the rest in that moment doesn't matter.

Carian I look forward to the rendition of youtuber Renate Saluste (I think she's Estonian): she's so great at making piano covers of Eurovision entries. This year so far, she has only posted covers of several Eesti Laul 2019 songs as well as the Spanish entry. I'll post her "Sebi" video as soon as it's out. :)

Zala Kralj and Gašper Šantl (please, pronouce Š as SH in English shoe) are both from Maribor. She is 19 and he is 22. She is/was studying to be a librarian (well, this explains her energy deficit), whereas Gašper told that he went on bike to Prague after finishing high school, where he got a job in a music studio. Recently he returned and he met Zala, and soon they became a couple. Today, when asked by a famous Slovenian radiohost about that scandal with Lea Sirk's cursing, Zala said she herself (i.e. Zala) actually "enunciated" a dirty word as well as soon as she realised that she and Gašper won - basically, everyone - including Zala and Gašper - believed/were convinced that Raiven would go to Tel Aviv. This explains their "rigid" reaction to their victory. Basically, everyone was convinced that Raiven would win, but Slovenians gave Raiven a huge slap by giving (as you all know by now) 72% of votes to Zala and Gašper.

Another interesting fact. It is possible that at least part of the song will be in English in ESC. Today they were asked this question by several people in their chat with viewers at RTV SLO. Anyways, they did not deny the possibility nor confirmed it, however, this is a huge change in their wording. If they refused categorically that they would translate the poem to English on the night of their victory, today they left at least this option on the table.

And as for Rene... Come on, guys, I am not shocked that he came last, he was ridiculous in those shiny pants. What bothers me is that INMATE was only seventh!!!!! I was convinced that they would go to superfinals. On the other hand, Lumberjack 6???? Seriously? That youngster with that disturbingly receding hairline was nothing but screaming for 2 minutes. How could that come 6???? Yet, Kim.... Ahahahaa, whoohaaa  She looked like the lost sister of the Kardashian clan with bad stylist :)

Aw, he was "quirkcute" on stage. It was obvious he wasn't born a dancer, but he had nothing to be ashamed of. And his glorious shiny outfit fit his teddy bear face: he went the unpretentious route like Ula. :)

The song is still my jam xmusic "Ne poveš" has to be the next Slovenian summer hit. I demand it. Maraaya who? BBQ who?

If RTV SLO needs a jury member for next year, I'm available!

Mrm You didn't ask, yet she posted it :D

Her comments are basically the same as mine: a styling upgrade and tighter/more striking additional camera angles would be needed to maximise the qualification chances of the whole package.

Hopefully, they don't include any English lines in the song.

I don't get the comparison apart from the fact they're wearing similar clothes and Madame sings while Monsieur plays an instrument. :D

The songs aren't similar at all to me though.
