Raiven is not very good-looking, though.
For someone who's so focused on sexism at Eurovision... :?

..Belarus is coming last in the 2nd semi, so... ManuSlélla's haters can already seethe
ThanksCatEye. I couldn't agree more with you. You've spoken the truth and nothing, but the truth True words of wisdom x12sx12sx12sx12s
Yes. I meant exactly this. He didn't acomplish anything by himself and was pushed down the viewers throats by RTVSLO all the time.Well, about A. Dežan... How to put it without being harsh or offensive? First, let me say that there is no doubt about his musical talent, but there is something off about him. I respect his persistence, but nor CatEye nor I were the only who didn't "get" A. Dežan. Despite all the necessary ingredients he had, he never made a career here in Slovenia. The audience never really responded to him as personality. Why exactly, I am not sure, but I think he was at certain point all over the place - it felt as though our national TV imposed him on us, enforced him. There was nothing he couldn't do, yet he was only 20 yo - he was TV presenter, he was a singer, he was a journalist - though he had no diploma in any of respective areas. So, I believe people saw in him something like impersonation of everything what is wrong in our society today. And I believe that CatEye meant this when (s)he said he was a hard-try, nothing else. But perhaps, I am mistaken... Anyways, I hope you understand now why Anžej was not really a fan-wank of the Slovenian audience
..
Switzerland will come last, MozzarElla will be second last (thanks to a few scrap points from Serbia and Macedonia)
Thanks

MozzarElla is the same thing, minus RTVSLO's support. Persistent, but very meh and no sight of improvement anywhere(the Samantha Tina of Slovenia). The only success she had so far is her victory at EMA, but if you know the cirmustances in which she won... yeah, not something to brag about.
Also I'm a he.
From what I see Črno bel is actually getting played on the radio, Red and blue on the other hand...
Raiven is not very good-looking, though.
that's probably why she lost...and pink hair didn't help her either...most slovenians (like all yugoslavs) are very conservative
LOL no, she would have easily qualifiedAnd that's what I think it will happen in ESC too.

It was bad, because she lost against a bland song that was both poorly sung and poorly staged. Not to mention that countrypop isnt even popular here, Taylor Swift's early song are almost never played on he radio here.I will not question your assertion - you know Slovenians better than me - but Raiven's "failure" should be put in context: about 7,600 people apparently voted in EMA this year (which is quite a low number, even for a country of 2 million people) and there was like a difference of approximately 160 votes with ManuElla, which is nothing!
So, even if I'm part of the people who think her failure was surprising, it's not like there was a massive reject towards her, her song or her looks either. Slovenians may be conservative, but Raiven's televote score wasn't bad considering the low participation.

The voters will go after the more known act and are willing to ignore everything else. RTVSLO is also to blame for this, since they killed all interest. The televoting results they get in everything they have organized in the last few years are abysmal.
I totally agree. If there is an epic fail to find eventually, it's definitely RTVSLO's recent inability to make their NF an attractive event that people would gladly watch. Seeing so few voters and so little interest in EMA (and secondarily, Eurovision) is saddening indeed, this is an issue they need to address asap imo. Changes in EMA (and promotion) would be welcome.
As for this year's results, yes this is bad. But the scores were so tight that I can't really see a true reject towards Raiven (like EscGeek suggested), even if ManuElla is nothing Slovenians would vote for under other circumstances. To me the number of votes is so low that it doesn't tell much about how Slovenians generally react to pink hair, drag queen-inspired make-up and songs stepping out of the box. Yet, she lost to ManuElla, there is no doubt about it.
Well...my mother didn't approve Raiven because of her appearance. But later she admited that the song is actually good
Also, I saw lots of negative troll comments towards her appearance on rtvslo webpage (like "she's too ugly for eurovision")
I think some people didn't vote for Manuella but against Raiven
Let me say how conservative and anti-pink-hair Slovenians are. In 2011 when we sent Maja Keuc, yes, that Ms. Keuc, my mother (yes, a lady about 60 yo with very conservative views - take this as a joke) did not approve that Ms. Keuc would represent us cuz she thought Ms. Keuc seemed too polished and boring in her appearance. She preferred Ms. April and her Ladadidej over Ms. Keuc. So, do you still think that average Slovenians are anti-pink-hair?
Raiven didn't even have the best song in EMA, it was just the 5th best one after Regina, ManuElla, Nuša Derenda and Anja Baš, so...
