Ukraine and Romania shouldn't be in the final!

I know Bulgaria was pretty good, but trust me, it wasnt Romania to take his spot ... and if i have to choose between Bulgaria and Ukraine ....then its Ukraine all the way. Poli was great but i have no ideea what was singing about .... stop being sore loser and learn from mistakes

Its sad that almost all non english songs fail in semis :(
And we can hear only 3 completely non english songs in final - serbia, france and spain! That fact is really embarrassing for one multicultural society like europe is.

The problem is, I'd imagine many people find it hard to connect to a song if they don't understand what it means. They're not voting for it because they hate the fact it's not sung in English. Just because it isn't sung in english so they don't "get it" as easily.

That said Bulgaria was my favourite performance (along with Estonia) last night. When I don't understand the lyrics I go back to the sound/rhythm and Bulgaria was more than strong enough in that regard for me. (Sometimes from the way they're singing you can get a feel for what they song is about too.)

I find results shocking, in bad way!!!
When I saw first 3 countries, Estonia, Romania and Moldova i was very disappointed... :(
The songs are awful, performances looked like circus and since I think that those songs didn't get points from jury, then they must've got maximum from the audience... And that's worrying me... :S
I like SF 1 results more... :)
I think that Bulgaria deserved to go to the final, since the performance was fantastic, the song is great and the singer is very good :)
Also, Ukraine has a nice song, but not that good for the final, but the look on the face of the artist that was painting in send was so cute when she heard they're in :)
Still, since Ukraine is using tricks like that to distract audience, the song isn't that good ;)

One thing I don't understand is the flock of Bulgarian members saying that everybody hates you because Poli didn't get through.

Clearly we don't if you came 5th in 2007 with Water. (Which was incredibly deserved) You can't just pick and choose the details to suit your complaining.

If it was up to me, Poli would be in the top 5 on Saturday....but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way.

Very pleased for Austria and Slovenia- fantastic vocal performances yesterday! Good to see them both- especially Austria- back in the Final... I think this year is also the first since 2002 where Switzerland and Austria have both been in the Final!

I understand Bulgarian members! I would also be mad, not because the song "Na Inat" didn't get to the final, but because songs like Moldavian and Romanian (clearly not 'cuz they are fantastic compositions) got through...
It seems to me that Eurovision members have to work harder on the rules to avoid situations like this... But the progress is made, Austria and Switzerland proofs that ;)

It was so much better than booooring sf1 to me but there were some shocking results.

Estonia, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, Slovenia, BIH, Ukraine, Romania were not surprises. I thought 2 of Cyprus, Israel and Bulgaria would be in the final too.

It's official: the 3 worst songs of ESC 2011 all got through imo (and I believe 2 thanks to lame juries)

Lithuania, Moldova & Austria.

Again songs in native language were punished and the same for ethnic songs (both Bulgaria and Cyprus deserved to be in the final over Austria and Moldovan crap).

I think now with the juries brought back, as 2011 was a record of english only entries and minimum ethnic, 2012 might be the first year where only France & Italy will get away with using native language but there will be absolute NO ethnic inspired entries.

2012 will be the year of the Disney ballads, because that's what the juries want.

@A-Lister, how can you say something after that incredibile performance of Nadine? The girl has the best voice of ESC 2011, and the song is a beautiful one. But tastes differ, I know, sorry..

Yes taste differs!

What performance? 3 minutes of vocal gymnastics?

Well I'm here for the songs not who can wail the most in 3 minutes, I leave that to shows like Idol... why do Eurovision have to be infected with that aswell?

And what do you say about Slovenia? Hasn't she a same song, a ballad?

No, Slovenia had a way more contemporary up to date ballad wheres stuff like Austria and Lithuania sounds like rejected songs for a "straight to video" Disney film from the 90's.

We must understand that in the juries are maybe people who are fond of other type of music. Other genre. Maybe not so modern. Not so catchy. Not so showable. And this ESC prooves that.

Haha exactly my point and what I've said a long time now!

But what do we need juries for if they have no clue about modern, european culture, what's hit-worthy or anything?

Fair enough they like different genres, but are they only their to put dated wailing Disney ballads in the final? What's the point really?

I find it funny when people think some crap songs' qualification is well deserved because the singer has an amazing voice!

Because people forgot that in Eurovision you compete with the songs and not as in Idol only with your wailing voice.

I don't even think wailing voices are even "pretty" in the first place... the fact that someone needs to wail is because they can't hold one note that long.

This semi was much better than the semi 1. I like the qualifiers except Jedward but i'm sad for Latvia, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Macedonia at the same time.
