Its sad that almost all non english songs fail in semis :(
And we can hear only 3 completely non english songs in final - serbia, france and spain! That fact is really embarrassing for one multicultural society like europe is.

I think when the lyrics are removed, or the meaning of the lyrics, then its just down to sounds and voice. The meaning of the song is often very important.

I think though that bids like the Estonian one in 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOsmEO_osXQ, was absolutely beautiful and didnt need to be sung in English. So sometimes I think it works very good to sing in your own language, but most of the time, no :-). But unfortunately it didnt win, it was a masterpiece :- ((((

I wanted to see the Cyprus song get through, although many seem to disagree with me. But I must admit that it's maybe because I'm fascinated with the Greek language, but that was a case of a song becoming much more beautiful because it was sung in it's own language, in my opinion.

Wow. What an exciting 2nd semifinal, much better than the first. Most of my faves got through so I'm quite happy but I am also sorry for my favourites who didn't make it: The Netherlands, Bulgaria and Latvia. I voted for all of them.

So let's see - Sweden, Ireland, Estonia, Denmark... no surprise. Apart from the Danish song (sorry!) I like all of them.

Moldavia - sursprise, surprise, I don't like the song but I find it funny to have a song like this amongst all the other serious songs, this is definitely what a final needs.

Romania - yay. I voted for that one too. I like it.

I don't understand why Austria, Slowenia and Ukraine got through. Quite boring songs in my opinion.

I'm so happy for my this year's favourite: Dino Merlin! He got through, yay! I voted for him several times! I hope B & H will win this year!

Bosnia & Herzegovina has grown SO much for me. Just a week ago it was a song I barely remembered and now it's turned into one of my favorites this year - all thanks to the wonderful live performance this evening! I would totally be ok with them winning!

I still don't get why keep moaning about everything being in English...with only a few exceptions nowadays you can't win if you don't sing in English.

Anyway, I'm a little happier now that Ireland got really screwed in the positioning. 4 potential winners one after the other.

Hungary
Ireland
Sweden
Estonia

I think Ireland and Estonia will suffer the most from that.

Au Contraire, Mon Frère!

I believe the irish is higher rated by the bookies than both sweden and estonia, so I'd see it as an advantage to the irish, that they start. But really, it is a handicap for all 3, that the 3 fast pop songs come after each other.

Gosh. Bulgaria not qualifying this year is a real tragedy, imo!
I'm sad... really sad - Poli did soo soo good!
She's really lovely and energetic and everything;
Oh my, such a pity !!!:(
(I called for her about 5 times.)

Concerning Moldova qualifying -
Err...*cough* yeah, I admit, it might be also my fault that they did. :D
Imo, eurovision always needs some kind of "mad/anarchistic act", and Zdob si Zdub are of course a perfect choice for that (They rock. Fullstop. And although this might not be their best song ever - I simply can not resit the this catchy trumpet part!!).
I guess, I voted for them something like "one-two-seven-three" times... ;)
same goes for some others as well...(f.i. Bosnia :), Latvia :(, Cypus :( ...)

...Damn, it' late - good night, everybody!

My votes went to:

2 - Cyprus & Ireland
1 - Estonia & Romania

All in all good that 3/4 of them qualified but out entry really deserved it this year! It had an awesome vocal and a pretty decent stage show. I'd think the juries would like it and the viewers, too. We'll see how well we did Saturday to Sunday.

I have to say this was the most boring semi-final I've ever watched. I hardly made myself vote for someone but no one convinced me, actually. In the end, semi 1 seems to be the stronger one. ;) The language issue has made me very sad. If a person who hasn't heard the songs before had to try remembering them, it'd be a nightmare as about 75% of the have no identity whatsoever... It'd be great if France wins or even Serbia and Spain as they're all awesome songs. :D
