Pretty happy with the quali's myself...
In the UK we had a few problems but nothing major (one of the presenters kept disappearing then reappearing apparently and the linkups just weren't working). I'm slightly disapointed there wasn't a long intro like we've had for the last few years. Hopefully its saved for Saturday :).

Really really really happy for Iceland and Finland who i felt gave the best performances of the night.
Besides them and a few others, it was a pretty bad show and the first five i dont really know what was up with them, either there was massive sound problems/montiors being off, or they just plain can't sing. Hopefully its the former.

Also, without Turkey now (sorry guys, it didn't deserve to get through.. nor did Georgia but hey ho), Saturday should be interesting since a fair few countries give their 12 to Turkey due to disporia... Looking forward to that.

I watched at RTK (Kosovo). When Russia ended the commentator said that Russia used playback vocalist and that he was not use if that was allowed.:lol::lol: He said that just when I was explaining to my nephew that Russian backing vocalists were behind those screens :lol::lol:
And just to mention that there were no sound problems here

Netherlands and Belgium are feeling like Rebecca Black now. They don't know who should they give their 12 points to in the final, now that Turkey and Armenia are out.

My favourite presentator is Anke (the one with the purple dress), she is really goofy I like her :p
Yeah, she was great! She was cracking me up all the time. I did not expect that.

No, I meant exclusively on those two, because those two always give Armenia and Turkey 10 or 12. Israel doesn't vote high for Turkey and UK never votes for Armenia. It was a joke!

France will be lost too, No portugal, no Armenia, no Turkey... and maybe no Israel:eek:

I bet some countries who never receive any points from france will have a shot now!

Serbia & Spain are in our top ten for sure!

We like serbia and they sing in their national language like they do (and good songs too obviously) so i think french people loves them for not singing in english, same goes for spain and it's a neighbour.

I'm ready to bet Italy will be there too

UK got a huge reaction when they show the big 5. Germany too, but that was obvious

I was surprised about my guess. I was sure that Lithuania, Iceland, Hungary, Hungary and Azerbaijan will definitely qualify. They did! I haven't been so sure ever before. :D Anyway, I'm happy about this year's performances: less circus and shows, more songs and great voices. :) Can't wait for Thursday.

I really don't think you can read anything into an arena reaction. Look how much they popped for Hera last year and she flopped in the final.

well, now they have us, so Turkish diaspora will find who they will vote for. ;)

I expected that, but I know her since many years in German TV and radio. I was so happy, when I heard, that she will be one of the presenters. She is a really good German comedian.

Last night reluts were a big surprise for me. I was shocked when Turkey, Norway and Armenia stayed in the semi, cause I was sure of their qualify. So the final promises be very very interesting ;)

I guess Turkey and Armenia staying out of the final is a kind of proof that diaspora voting doesn't always ensure a qualification. All this talk about Germany hosting a bad show is just bitter comments from sore losers, that's it. There was no problem with the broadcast here in Greece, everything was just fine. As far as Norway and the problem with the broadcast in Spain, even if Spain awarded 12 points to Norway, this still wouldn’t be enough for Norway to qualify. I read this in an article someone posted in the Norwegian thread.
Now, about Greece qualifying, to be honest I didn’t expect so many “nice” comments but I suggest to all those who bet we qualified due to diaspora voting, I would like to remind you that there was no Cyprus in this semi and that we were competing with Iceland, Norway, Finland, Poland, Malta, Portugal, Lithuania, Switzerland, San Marino, Croatia, Hungary and who else I cannot remember, countries well known for their “vast” Greek community.
To be honest I wasn’t exactly sure that we would qualify, but maybe, I say maybe, some people might have liked our song. I don’t think it’s nice bashing our entry so much.

I'm not surprised with results, it was like excpected. every1 that passed did so for a reason.
except georgia. I have no idea why that went to finals. albania was much more deserving.

imho, greece was the winner of the 1 semi. they owned that stage.
my pre-semi favourite hungary was good, nothing like studio version but ok.

generally, seems that juries will (finally) swing this contest in better direction. for too long stupid/bad but "catchy" songs had big success on esc and those with some actual quality didn't.
