Yeah that's true. I can't remember if they did it last year but remember I remember in I think 2012, the last called country had to do a walk of victory onto the stage. Imagine Valentina doing that!? How epic and euphoric the moment would be

Epic would be the word indeed. The first time a microstate would qualify... I remember that moment in 2012, but unfortunately they did that only because the greenroom was in the middle of the audience, I doubt they'd do that again unless they opt for a similar stage. Anyway, I'm sure she'd be filled with emotions.

San Marino qualifying would be a highlight of the night for me. If only she were in the second semi, she could've had a legitimate chance.

This performance in Brighton is even better (despite the poor recording). The audience really get into it and the you can see how touched Valentina is by the warm reception at the end.

I didn't actually realise how small San Marino was until now...

Well said Sean. I knew San Marino is small (one of the European Microstates) but didn't realise it's barely much bigger than Derby. That's precisely why, as I as I asked in this post, is it really worth such a tiny area of land, i.e. just over 61 square kilometres (24 square miles), being a country in its own right? Why not just make San Marino a Region of Italy or a Province of Italy?

To avoid derailing this thread with the above matter, I suggest replies to the above post be made in the thread World's Smallest Countries - can their existence as standalone countries be justified?

Everything points to not making the final but It is a year that anything can happen. I would love to see Valentina in the final, it is not impossible, but it is a semi where it will be very tough country wise

I just listened to this song for the first time. Nice song. But why in English? Please, stick to Italian, San Marino, Italian makes the song much more interesting. Classical structure of the song, but the atmosphere created is certainly interesting. Powerful voice, it would be nice to see San Marino qualify - in Italian

That was the best interview ever, up there with the one ESCTODAY did with Kaliopi a couple of years ago. Valentina has the most beautiful spirit. The journey she has been on these past three years has been immense. Valentina is only human as she states and she has her low moments but she turns those moments into beauty. She's so down to earth and in touch with the elements. I wish the whole of Europe could see the Valentina as a person we have all fallen in love with over the past three years.

Valentina is never miserable... unless it's got something to do with the price of Azerbaijan coffee. Gosh, I would have loved if the (I must say wonderful) interviewer had asked her about the Azerbaijan airport coffee incident as I believe it was Wiwi bloggs that originally reported on the story.

I'm leaning toward Valentina not qualifying. Personally, I think this song is not as good as Crisalide. She's also in the harder semi, which will make it even tougher for her to qualify.
