She was incredible in Amsterdam. She's one of the best vocalist this year! I'll be really mad if she doesn't qualify in May.

Omg, I was so happy when Laura bretan didn't win Romanian selection. That was big win for lgbt, but the second biggest win this year will be when one of 3 favs win. I don't know how she can handle bilal's win, duncan's or mahmood's. BTW, she blocked me on instagram. I mean, the girl obviously can't take critics or truth. :)

Such a Shame that a SN with Bella and Laura will end up in Romanias worst Result of all Time :(

Two people with opposite opinions on Laura Bretan could stop and make me a very happy man

Am I one of them? Because I still don't care about Laura Bretan, in a positive OR negative sense.

Today, I decided to know what really happened involving Laura and that video we all know... Well, everything happened two months ago but I felt necessity to express my unpopular opinion:

I understand both sides but I think that a song doesn't fade/grow so easily, especially for people who have been following/inside Eurovision for a long while. For that reason, I'm forced to believe WiWi guys were influenced by that video and ruined Laura's chances, sorry. Anyway, I have seen horrible comments from both sides.

Sometimes I can't believe in some people's opinions, just because they support the cause of each side, they end up being irrational and don't accept other points of view and automatically refuse to accept (or even think) them.

Musically (for me it's what matters in Eurovision) I love both, both would be in my Top 10 and I think Ester is really underrated. Hope she will be able to qualify! But I still think they were unfair to Laura and that they were not impartial, that's just my opinion!!!!

One thing I don't get is this why is doing just a bit better in the odds compared to last year.
Unlike Goodbye, this entry is light years more modern, has a structure, is catchy, has a blasting chorus at the end...

Because it is underrated and the semi-final is very difficult so many people that Ester won't make it to the final. Juries has to support her.

''On a Sunday'' is still too calculated compared to Bella's and Laura's songs who on the contrary to Ester's song actually made you feel in a subjective way.
I think this will be a borderline qualifier at best and only the staging can save this.

I really love how «On a Sunday» builds up but the song always loses me halfway through. But it's one of my favorite Romanian entries.
Hope it will qualify.

Like if the other two were calculated too or something?

One of them was sympathy-mongering ode to a parent (who isn't even dead, I think?) and the other capitalizes on the current trend of uptempo mini-skirted slutpop.

It doesn't fucking get more calculated than those two.

Yes, they are capitalizing for respective audiences which are exploitable. That's how money talks.
But there is a difference when a fanbase cared for a song despite its cliches or if a song which everyone recognizes as transparent about what it will capitalize on.
''On a Sunday'' is an entry that is too similar to many esc-entries before it. That could explain one of many reasons why this song is not really popular here, but many still sympathize with the other two songs even these have weaknesses too.

Not to be that guy but I think the other 2 songs you mentioned fit this description way more.
