Does anybody know what is actually going on? Is the voting really being investigated? Has Ester indicated how she feels about this and about going to Eurovision? Is there a precedent for this? So many questions  I'm new to this and I'm completely confused and honestly quite put off by both the Romanian voting system and all the hatred that ensued. I feel really sorry for Ester, she's in a very difficult position even though she did nothing wrong. I hope the broadcaster will claim responsibility and explain themselves to the fans (and the artists) but I'm worried they'll just try to blame everyone else instead..

Yes, she had a hard time reading all those hatecomments. She worked hard, she doesnt have much money to throw around. Shes not responsible for the Rules.

No, they will blame everyone else. Last year they blamed that the SMS-Voting in Germany and Italy didnt work which prevented the Romanian Diaspora to vote for them (and yet they got 12 from Italy) when they failed to qualify.

Marriage is a lifestyle choice. I will never marry, and I have taken care of well of my partner that I have for four years now. There are enough laws in place to protect your loved ones, it doesn't need a priest and a church. It's vain. So, please boycott me now from ever entering Eurovision for any country. Thanks.

Civil marriage exists, you know...

You really have to wonder why they keep getting preferential treatment from the Eurovision and not other esc fan sites like ESCInsight, ESC+, ESCXtra, ESCKaz, or even ESCUnited (I would have included Oikotimes but let's be real here)

Of course it's because of the 70 K subscribers.

Realest thank you for your response. It's exactly as I thought :/ this is all very unfortunate and it really takes the joy out of the contest.

It's because they cosy up with EBU and delegations and never report something controversial or rotten about what's going on inside.

I feel like On a Sunday should be something that I am supposed to like but I oddly enough despite my honest efforts can't. :(

In all seriousness though this thread is a mess and I can't believe Ester is being bullied for winning the contest fair & square... Also don't blame 'the Gays'. Anyone would change their mind after someone tells the world they think you don't deserve equal rights and uses their fame to further promote that mindset. Honestly how are y'all so surprised and angry they changed their mind, how can they even enjoy a song of such an artist after that statement? If you want to blame anyone blame the broadcaster who somehow gave them that much voting power lol.

I hope Ester doesn't take these idiots online too seriously and just listens to her daily dosis of Kelly Mantle brushing keyboard heroes off ;)

You know that you don't need to marry in a church, right? In Poland there is neither civil union nor civil marriage accessible for same-sex couples.

edit:
Even civil union is seen as something blasphemous by some people (and perhaps in their homophobia) they forget that those would include hetero couples and not only. Sadly all the attempts to implement something like this die on the vine because of the bigots.

Good for you. Not everyone feels that way. And in the overwhelming majority of jurisdictions that provide an "other" form of partnership for non-hetero couples, the non-marriage system doesn't provide the same rights to protect a couple/family of the same-sex. Not only that, but by calling it a different name, the state is reinforcing a narrative that same-sex couples and opposite-sex couples don't have the same kind of love connecting them. No one mentioned a priest or a church, in the fight for marriage equality, a miniscule amount of people are calling for marriage equality in a religious sense. And none of this takes away from the fact that being against marriage equality is homophobic. Being called a homophobe isn't an insult, just as being called a racist isn't an insult. It's an invitation to learn about your behaviour and change your mindset.

I'm honestly this close to disliking Romanian mentality as a whole. It's not like the world would only be able to accept Romania JUST if the entrant was Bella or Laura and no one else, is it? Sure, it wasn't the peoples' winner, but so weren't most other NF winners and so what? And performances can make a song grow on you, have these haters never heard of that? Of course Laura was good enough but maybe, just, maybe, it was finally time for Deban and William to realize that this song is void of substance (except the father aspect) and basically just a vocal showcase and start appreciating anyone else around them better. It happens. There exist people who change their minds sporadically, I've seen a couple of those in the Eurofandom. Fuck's sake.

I just want to see Wiwibloggs not suffering from this as a whole, as this website has more journalists than Deban and William and even the videos not featuring any of the two or both are getting unfairly disliked. Time to put a goddamn end to this.

Best of luck to Ester, even if I'm not a fan of the song. For all the haters out there who're that petty, there's a thing called "getting over it". Please do so.

What do you care what I see? It's none of your business. I as an Eurovision artist would stay as far away as possible from wiwibloggers who only want to ask me about gay lifestyle choices instead of music and then boycott me if they don't like what I say.

Why are you so agressive? You stated an opinion, I dicuss it with you. That‘ what we are here for.

I have seen countless comments last year saying 'La Forza' was nothing more than a vocal exercise (plus stage gimmick) and I know so many ESC-fans would have been happy if someone else had won in Estonia. But if you had to judge which song had better chances of succeeding in Eurovision it would be crazy to say "This song is void of substance, let's rather take Stig Rästa, or Vajé, or Sibyl Vane, or Frankie Animal, or Evestus and maybe after that Elina.."

So you are Polish. We are discussing in the Romanian thread. Eastern European culture is still more conservative than Western Europe. And in western Europe it is the Media who propagates liberal values, not politics or people. Austria or Ireland just legalized gay marriage just recently. So who do theese fools from wiwibloggs think they are when they bully a Romanian girl? It is not their business what she thinks. She should represent a country and not wiwibloggs enshrined values.

Annoying. Rules are rules, singers have accepted them, even if those were bad rules. Get over it. Try again next year with better rules.

Because you want to drag it onto a personal level and I don't let you have it. You tried before and I ignored it so I have to make it clear.

There are rules for jury members as well, first of all: integrity.

lmao and how exactly did they bully her? By placing her 5th and 7th? There is absolutely ZERO bullying in that. William, Deban and Ester are the ones getting straight up BULLIED, not even criticised.
