BTW :fr: is screwed with :ua: performing right before.
:fr: would be screwed if :ua: performed after Barbara, ngl about that. pairing them together in that precise order will benefit both of them. Plus, :az: performing after :fr: will impact her chances of doing well, that's almost utterly certain

France Switzerland and Italy are the winners of the running order (though I'm certain the EBU is underestimating Ukraine and that might hurt France), Malta and Bulgaria are the biggest loosers.
Totally unacceptable to put Albania second again. The anti-eastern bias of the producers is evident here. Belgium and Portugal were much better fits for that spot and I don't believe that both (or either for them in fact) did that amazing in the semis to grant them the right of avoiding the death spot.

I don't think so. Many casual viewers will dislike Ukraine because it's definitely challenging. France will speak to many viewers and it couldn't shine more after the big bang from Ukraine.

Maybe Ukraine didn't win the Semi and Lithuania did better? Sometimes I get little fanwank vibes from Ukraine but on the other hand GoA are doing well on streaming.

But whatever: Lithuania - Ukraine - France could be the climax on Saturday.

Ehhh I`d say you are wrong with that one at least. I wouldn`t be surprised if :pt: finished 2nd last night. Obvs a jury pleaser but I can tell you that both my boyfriend and my mother-in-law were completely enchanted by it. The Itunes performance also points towards a good televoting result.

Maybe Ukraine didn't do as well as we all predicted over here? It would be so sad seeing that :(

I mean, it`s rather obvious that :ua: won the Televote in Semi 1 - Looking at the Itunes performance and the YT views. So yeah it`s a very eccentric piece that will have people talk about it (in a good or a bad way doesn`t really matter) and that might make people completely overlook :fr:

Who do you guys think will be the "North Macedonia 2019" this year? I got a feeling it will be Portugal.
There is always a song that just comes out of nowhere and rated very well by the juries when it's overlooked by the fandom.
Yeah Portugal all the way.

I was watching the recap section within the full semifinal 2 video. It is the recap for Sugar and the timestamp in that full Semifinal 2 video is just about 137:29.

EDIT: I checked and couldn't hear it in the short recap video (that was a different recap run).
Gotcha, yeah it's the guy standing the Natalia's left that's screaming something like "yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhh" but he has a vaguely feline tone to his voice

yeah i get what you mean, but i just can't buy what you're trying to tell me with :fr: being overshadowed by :ua:, while they're performing right after...

The big question is: Is it worse to start before or after such a BANG-entry? I don`t really have numbers at hand so it`s probably hard to tell.

No, the fact it jumped in odds and is already talked by people makes it completely different to Macedonia who came out of nowhere during voting. Same about Norway.

I feel it could be Greece because I found it suspicious how they had Paparizou being interviewed in the same semi and shortly after Stephania performed. There are similarities in the style of the songs and the their backgrounds (both originating from Greek diaspora and introducing themselves to Greece as teenagers performing in eurovision). Or maybe they bought the hype and thought Greece's staging would actually be amazing and make them a contender. It's a bit tinfoil but it is weird how they suddenly decided to showcase a non-recent and non-western winner in this particular semi.

I think Portugal will be the Ryan O'Shaghnessy of the year. They seem like such an obvious dark horse so the actual dark horse has to be someone else.

Add to that I think it'll fare way better on the televote than people's predictions

Fair enough.
