However, this year we are suffering with the fandom... Like, last year with a weaker effort, people were quite pleased.
Yes, this is not Saudade, Saudade, but come on. That 12th place in the odds is completely out of place.

Saudade Saudade is probably one of my favourite ESC songs ever. But yeah, Portugal since their 2017 win are consistently providing class and quality to the contest, that's undeniable (maybe 2020 was their weakest attepmpt).

We seem to be back to an era where you need to be as loud and as obnoxiously edgy as possible to win the televote. ;)

Saudade, saudade still unbeaten for me in terms of intimacy and atmosphere but Grito is a stunning composition. Ai Coração was a nice shift from our typical melancholy all elevated by a top notch performer even if the song is quite predictable. Love Is On My Side never did much for me sadly as i enjoy a lot of The Black Mamba/Tatanka material (sending something like Crazy Nando would've been so cool). And thank heavens for the 2020 cancellation because that is one of the most unremarkable FdC winners...ever? A snoozefest.

Saudade, Saudade is eternal. Probably, the best portuguese entry of the millennium so far. Even better than Senhora do Mar, Todas as Ruas do Amor, or Amar Pelos Dois.
That composition is mindblowing and Maro was an amazing representative. She is still taking fruits from the tree.

2020 would create a big problem for the current FdC team... An enormous flop would come and two non qualifications in a row. Ouch.

I would like to humbly submit O Jardim for consideration here as well, that song is just about perfect for me.

I really like "O Jardim", but it was not competitive at all... Even though, it gave Claudia Pascoal a big chance to improve her career. And of course, taking the trophy from Diogo Piçarra. That is still so weird. Our biggest pop singer doing Festival da Canção and then... an awful IURD song took it all..

I'm really curious to see how this looks on camera. If it was superb on FdC, which has a small stage, I guess it'll be amazing on the big stage. Fingers crossed for a 4th-in-a-row qualification of our neighbours!
