Not catchy enough, I'm afraid. Especially not for the televote in the semi.
The Portuguese song from 2008 was riskier but made with just the televotes too. This year's song can borderline qualify if live performance and staging is convincing enough. Its one of the few ballads of its kind this year on the plus side.

I expect the live performance and staging to be one of the best in the contest, but I don't think it's enough. I agree that ballads may have an advantage in a field of noisy songs - as this year -, but I feel that the melody of Grito is too unremarkable.

The song have a rough path, I agree. I'm more optimistic with Portugal having their silent fans helping them out however.

I keep forgetting that Portugal is in the very weak semi-final 1, so they are definitely not out of it yet. Hardly any of the 15 songs are.

This is a potential grower for me. It has a beautiful sound to it which is carried quite masterfully throughout the song. In a year full of faster paced songs this could potentially even stand out. It does, however, leave me a little bit cold at the end and I would have hoped for something even more dynamic and emotional for this to get higher points. But as it stands, it's a solid entry from Portugal.

IT'S QUALIFYING EASILY.

Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Moldova and Iceland easy nq.

And probably Ireland.
Agree. This break in the odds is way more related with the absence of the parties than anything else. Ireland and Slovenia got the momentum there. Especially Ireland.
About your NQ's, I think you are correct. Maybe Ireland is doing it instead of Slovenia/Poland/Australia.

I think it's borderline Q. I could see it NQ if it was in the 1st half. With a good placement I think it will just scrape over the line into the final. Equally I wouldn't be shocked if it NQs.

I still think Cyprus is in serious NQ danger, much more so than Portugal, although if you look at the odds Cyprus looks like a safe Q.

Apart from the fact that it will be hard to see the whole first part going trough, Cyprus has two disadvantages. Firstly, open the semifinal and Luxembourg closing it.

And also no friends voting in the semi.

Greece, Israel, Albania, Armenia and Georgia are all in the 2nd semi.

Serbia, the UK and Azerbaijan are the only countries here that vote for Cyprus and even these will go for other countries.

Serbia for Slovenia, Croatia, and probably Ukraine. The UK will go for Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Ireland before Cyprus and Azerbaijan idk.
