Thankfully RTP heard the fans and last year's jury was way more diverse than in past years. Hopefully the trend remains
Júlio Isidro will probably have a stroke hearing Conan but he shouldn't be a problem in the end

That was a strange experience...listening to all the songs from Portugal this year. What happened? This is much more interesting that the FdC has even been before. They have actually reached 2019!
But I am afraid there was no instant love for me in FdC this year. Many of the entries are too indie and alternative for my taste. Not a fan of neither Telemoveis for Pugna.

I haven't heard all of the songs yet but Telemóveis truly is a stunning piece of art. Holy crap, this would be a fantastic entry.

Portugal are TRANSFORMED.

The vid for "Telemóveis" already has 136K views (a few hours ago it was 124K) and over 4000 likes.

Conan is WINNING (the Fado Scene, FdC, life, hearts, etc)

My thoughts on Telemoveis

1st listen: This is just.... loud and weird.
2nd listen: At least the instrumentation is nice.
3rd listen: Most probably won't be on my top 10, but I still enjoy it. if chosen, it will be the first Portuguese entry ever to enter my playlist.

the song kinda gives me middle eastern vibes, and i like it. is it also part of the portuguese music culture?

I still wonder how they will make those human sounds live. I think ESC should be more open about this, the rule limits creativity. At least they can be more flexible at cases when it's inevitable. I remember they allowed JOWST but Netta had to use backing vocals for the voices in the beginning.

Most of the juris are typically connected to Antena 1 and 3 ...

And Antena 3 placed the Album of CONAN OSISRIS "Adoro Bolos " in best of 2018 (the National Albums) ,stayed in 6 place

So I believe Jury is going to vote high on Conan

Billboard made an article about Festival da Canção

In it they talked about how this edition has higher diversity and new music styles, they incorrectly say that the songs came from an open submission contest were more than 200 artists competed (not true, only one entry came from this open submission contest) and they say how Conan's song "stands out as a progressive contrast to the usual Eurovision fare" and is "hailed as a calling card for Portugal’s cultural mix".

yes, Conan! A portuguese friend showed me "Celullitite" some time ago, I was quite intrigued, Telemoveis is even better. My nr 1. But there are another 5 or 6 songs that I like in this selection (NBC is nr 2, Felipe and Mariana 3 and 4, Joao, not at all bad too...) Good job, Portugal!

Telemoveis is the most revolutionizing I've heard in terms of music in ESC context since Love Injected... This HAS to win. Would be the biggest watershed in Eurovision HISTORY. All aboard on the hype train!

"Telemóveis" is good enough, it will sell itself even without an OTT act. Like, look at the reactions anywhere on the internet. The best Portugal can do here is work with lights and camera angles to ensure the mystic atmosphere of the song is recreated on the big stage as well. Conan will require *some* staging, but certainly not much to do well.

I do think Conan is a bit too esotheric to win ESC proper, but I can see the comparisons to Aminata or even "Taken By a Stranger". 4th-10th in the Grand Final is the finish I'd foresee for him right now, with the caveat that he can rise or drop depending on what the other broadcasters select.

Love Injected was also the first song that came to my mind when listening to Telemoveis. Probably would get a similar result as well, around 6th, more appreciated by the juries, but the televoters not quite getting this avant garde brilliance.

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure RTP will only allow the songs to be published after the final
