If Surma - "Pugna" wins, Portugal will be my number one, whatever wins in all other countries!

Re: PORTUGAL 2019

Have just listened again to Matay - "Perfeito" carefully ...
It would also probably be my fave of 2019 ESC if wins..what a a composition, what a vocal.. xlove xheart

I like "Telemoveis", but I have to say I will be a bit disappointed if it wins..having Surma and Matay in the NF! :(

Re: PORTUGAL 2019

Telemoveis is the most revolutionizing I've heard in terms of music in ESC context since Love Injected... This HAS to win. Would be the biggest watershed in Eurovision HISTORY. All aboard on the hype train!

This was also quite revolutionising in my opinion

As for Telemoveis, it is BY FAR my favourite song of this Eurovision season so far. Would absolutely remain my number 1 until the 18th of May.
Well done Portugal, I believe you have high chances of winning again this early after Salvador with Conan.

Re: PORTUGAL 2019

Conan has way more views than anyone else from festival de Cancao 2019 in Youtube! I listen to it again and i like it more. Clear top 5 with good staging song so i think they have to send it! Some of the rest are really good too but this is on another level!

I’m a bit disappointed that not many people are talking about this GEM. Another modern entry, but this song makes me feel inexplicably emotional, especially the instrumental part towards the end. With the right staging I would absolutely LOVE seeing Ana Claudia at Eurovision.

Tumblr, mostly.

Yeah, I think Inércia is quite good and so are many others (NBC, Surma, Madrezpaz, Mariana Bragada). It's a pity that FdC2019 is basically Eesti Laul 2015: A really good selection overshadowed by one obvious (excellent) favourite. Oh well, it at least inspires me to watch FdC for the first time since 2014, so there's that.

To be honest i'm not sure if like it that much! But as people say in the youtube comments it sounds like music from the future!

Re: PORTUGAL 2019

Listening through some of the songs here and after some thought and looking through translations to them, damn these are just masterpieces.
"Telemoveis" that for me is questioning the use of social media, humans longing for something more than that and if it is allowed to question it.
And "Pugna", talking about the wars, both within us and around the world, and that we sometimes have to choose side, mostly for no reason.
There were more great lyrics, but it was those two that got stuck within me. Leaving links to the translations below.

I love you Portugal, it is only you that can take up matters about like these in this contest! xrose

Re: PORTUGAL 2019

I've listened 4 times to Conan's song, and I still don't know how I feel. I want to like it more than I do, but yet I keep going back to it. It's a song that really makes me think. I'm not sure how well it would do at ESC, and comparisons to APD are kind of ridiculous, but ESC could really use a song like this. I'll have my eye on this one, since I'm assuming he's going to landslide FdC.

Why want to like something you don't like that much, because of the hype train? A crap song won last year because of hype. I'm not interesting in backing something as it might be a winner at national level, I really hope this hype train gets derailed.

Best songs, which I enjoy so far rather than have any opinion on how they'll do. I don't care if I back the national winner or not.
Madrepaz - Mundo A Mudar
Mila Dores - Debaixo Do Luar.

Nothing to do with hype. I want to like it because there are a lot of things good about it. But parts of the instrumental are like he banged his head of a keyboard to make it sound "modern". The middle-eastern sounding parts are the best. It's a flawed masterpiece.

I don't think anyone gets on a hype train here … otherwise we wouldn't discuss here our likes and dislikes. :p I can understand Qwaar Jet, I often feel like that towards a song as well. You don't like it from the beginning, yet you come back to listen to it because there is "something" about it that you have to figure out.

Re: PORTUGAL 2019

Well there's two parts to it, the mournful melody which isn't that great though he sings it ok. I know there's a fado element but it doesn't feel that intense, more watered down for the masses. Then there's the staccato sections which add some energy, though that will probably get votes just based on it sounding weird to some (like the winner last year). Just because something sounds a bit different to what people normally here doesn't mean it's great. It won't become a standard, though I know Eurovision (particularly in modern times) doesn't really aim for that anyway. People are just concerned with a song standing out more on the night, but even there I don't think there's a big chorus and there will be bigger dance songs. Not terrible but not really something I can be hyped over.
