The biggest fave of the year that I can't get behind (besides Norway). But I do admire the love it gets and I admire the line-up Portugal had this year, just authentic forward-thinking original music with a sense of artistry without pandering to Eurovision. I wish I could like this more, because it's something refreshing and different, but that doesn't ensure I'm going to like it. Music (and art in general, because I feel that's the main word people attach to this song) is ultimately something to enjoy for me, which includes songs that reflect how I feel or think, something I vibe with, something I want to engulf myself in, that just clicks for me, and the song doesn't have to be 'enjoyable' with its aesthetic if it can trigger an emotional response. But this does almost nothing for me no matter how much I listen to it, the dissonance is real, especially the instrumental chorus bit, I don't get it and it doesn't click, I don't enjoy it. I really appreciate its presence in the competition though, even if I am left out of the hype, it's still fun to have a fan-fave like this.
, but when I saw performance in Berlin club it was really weaker live..but sometimes small clubs have bad sound..
