I'm gonna lose it. Seriously, I already predict all the tears. Oh my god, how I wish I could vote, but I just have to be American. *rolls eyes*

The only time I felt so emotionally connected with an entry was with Jamala and 1944, and with the voting sequence I literally exploded with joy. But at the same time I'm so divided because I reaaaally want :it: to finally snatch the trophy and it would be so iconic to have Occidentali's Karma winning

About those statements that he could get bored cause the contest is way too long and has several similar songs...

In that same interview, he points out that he can be quite inconvenient at times, cause he says whatever comes to his mind at the moment, without reflecting on it.

I prefer someone honest as him instead of 99,9% of contestants who state that all the songs are good or they did not listen to them to avoid an answer. I know they do it for a good pr, but it´s still a lie and it annoys me more than this.

I would be happy if :pt: wins instead of :it: cause I really love your country and this song deserves so much xheart Tbh he would be the only winner that would not piss me off if we´ll lose

But at the same time I think it would be suck a fuckery us winning when :it: had such huge amount of hype, plus the disappointment of the italians would be so big and overall it would be a sad situation...

It would be. But you know, it is a contest, so you can expect to win and to lose as well. These are the rules. Our disappointment would be probably be so huge that we´ll need ten years to metabolize  I am more than ready today tho, it´s very likely that this could happen, I am trying to go to Kyiv with small expectations, even if it´s hard at this point. I am also sure that it would be so shocking that I will lose passion and interest in this contest after ten years of love. But it´s something personal, I often overreact.

I just wish Salvador and Francesco had come in alternate years  I too am divided, cause i never liked an entry from my country as much as i do this year and i have no doubt this is a one in a million shot for us.

But then i look at Italy's entry and can't point a single flaw in it and it trully deserves to win (and it will, i'm sure).

Why, oh why? xgaah

Exactly this. It's not like he singled anyone out either. He just said a lot of the songs sound the same (which they do), and frankly any artist who would somehow take offense to that I think would have to be very insecure about their entry and must already be thinking their song is blending into the crowd. I prefer people who are respectfully honest, rather than those who fake delight and say things to please. As long as he's not saying "The songs at Eurovision all suck" then I don't care. Salvador's a real person in a very bizarre, alien and new situation. He's not been trained how to speak in front of media and thank goodness.

Salvador is like an angel sent from Heaven in order to humble all humanity with his heartfelt song. After this angel wins Eurovision, there will be 1.000 years of World Peace.

Interesting you say this, because Salvador's name in english means Savior and on the date of the Eurovision final (13th May) the Pope will be in :pt: celebrating the 100th anniversary of Fátima's Miracle :)

The coincidence is mind-boggling
Yes it's a very nice place

So is all of Portugal, especially Oporto .... :p

2017 screams for a saviour.

Although 2014's winner Conchita was already praised as ray of light, a messenger for peace and unity; but then things turned even worse in this twisted place called World. :(

From the press conference today, Luísa Sobral said that going to Eurovision is like going to Euro Disney! Also, she confirmed she is taking care of the staging. Besides, she is pregnant!!!

I just thought of something - this year the postcards are supposed to be filmed half in the participating country and half in Kyiv. How will they do that with Portugal? Will Luísa be the only one appearing in the Kyiv part or will the entire postcard have images from Portugal? I think it might be the latter, as they seemed to have filmed many different shots here in Portugal, too much for it to take just half of the postcard.

Here Luísa explaining everything, saying she's very into stage design and presentation.
She's extremely competent and professional, very detail-oriented, so I believe everything will be fine in her hands ;)

P.s. I kinda want her next year :)

Is that a fnac store? I was last year in a fnac store in Oporto on a rainy day, but it was too overpriced for my taste or maybe we have more competition in the retail electronics and entertainment stuff.

This is just heartbreaking!! I really hope Salvador pulls through his health problems, tadinho mesmo!!! I'm going to give the Sobrals my 12 points on the 13th, I really hope this wins over :it: now, even though it won't.

That's a really good question.

Maybe they will film some stuff between the two dress rehearsals on the 8th and do some ultra fast video editing for the semi-final xD

Anyway, continuing an issue which could be ongoing, please be like Salvador himself. Don't vote him just because he's ill or something like this. Vote him for the song. He wants you all to concentrate on the song, and not on his health. He wants to be treated as a singer, and not as a human case. I mean... if you like the song, vote for it, but if you don't, you just don't need to vote him 'cause of his issues completely unrelated to the song - they're two completely different things!

And I'm talking as a lover of Amar pelos dois. (BTW I found great the exchange of words between Italians and Portuguese here: usually hot rivalries rise up between favourites... here there's great respect between the two sides, and I really like it)
