Almost a perfect prediction - you just forgot to mention that Portugal is only hosting because they placed second, and first-place Croatia was unfortunately able to host because their broadcaster bankrupted itself on giving Jacques the most over-the-top stage show ever seen. xheat

In this case, my opinion lines up directly with reality.

Any evidence for that? The reaction to the song has been overwhelmingly positive. Obviously May will decide it's result, but at the moment your opinion has no basis in reality.

Notwithstanding that his opinion is anathema to me, isn't that why it's his "opinion?" I don't see why his opinion should be influenced by the reaction to it. He never said it's not going to do well, which probably would require some evidence; he just said he hated it.

Salvador said that his favourite entry is Italy, even though he has only listened to a few entries so far. He said he relates to his "kookiness"

Great to see that two 'non-English' entries seem to get a real 'appreciation' before the contest.
Personally, it's the closest definition of Celebrate Diversity xcheers xcheers

I just... space out whenever I hear this. This entry is indescribably romantic, dreamy, and most of all there's so much sincerity in it which is not easy to come across in music these days. But it's not even the song or Salvador that amazes me the most. It took me a little while to truly get into the song if I'm honest. What I love about this is the reaction. I was filled with so much emotion when I read comments from people when Salvador won. It's like it's brought out everybody's inner poet and I haven't really seen anything like that before. It's a good reminder how timeless music can be, how much it can transcend, invoke in us, inspire, and what we're really here for in the end. I only have pure love for Portugal this year for so many reasons.
