And he just went with her sister to a major TV talk show tonight... I'm so curious to see if he will continue to be in the media until Kiev...

He is so blatantly genuine and honest about everything, borderline politically incorrect, good sense of humour: i just love him!

There's a performance of a song I feel the need to share. It's a track from Salvador's album "Excuse Me". There's a live performance of "Nem eu" on youtube actually, but this other performance i've come across has destroyed me. It's snapped my heart in two. The video quality is super potato, and it's performed in a small tv studio, but it's absolutely spellbinding. Every fibre of his being is in this performance. Half way through it becomes like a bird taking flight. One of the most intensely beautiful things i've ever experienced. This man is unreal. I've watched this six or seven times now, and it's left me an absolute wreck afterwards each time without fail. Portugal are gifting Europe the most special person imaginable this May. Oh maaan....

The state of health of Salvador Sobral continues to raise many eyebrows among fans of the RTP Song Festival. Especially as the rumors grow louder among colleagues.

And this week's Guia TV clarifies everything that goes on, especially when the latest rumors give the singer as suffering from a heart problem. "Salvador always has a kind of pacemaker that forces him to use a kind of backpack that contains the batteries around his waist," he told TV Guide who was behind the scenes of the festival. "That's why he wears that wide clothing, which was specially made by his mother," added another source who was in the Coliseum.

Ana Paulo, the agent of the singer, says however that the problem is another. "He has been operated on for two hernias, one inguinal and the other at the navel, so he can not move normally, he has pains and he has made an incredible effort to act, unfortunately because of this he has not been able to carry out all the Press that this victory deserved. "

This really upset me to read. I hope this gentleman finds better health soon. The significance and emotional weight of the performances he gave somehow become even stronger after reading that. To know he's been suffering is horrible, and just makes what he's achieved all the more extraordinary.

Oh my gosh! Thanks for the heads up there. What a treat to finally hear the studio version, although i'd grown so accustomed to hearing the various live versions. It loses nothing in the studio version. Still as raw and beautiful as ever, and I noticed the sweet little touch they added at the end to close the song. Like the little cherry on top of a cake.

I'm gonna go straight to itunes and purchase itxheart

WOW, RTP allowed it? They are crazy this year!!!! yay!!!

They are thankfully changing their mentality. They will actually allow all FdC entries to be released soon and will also shoot a music video for Salvador's song (The first time they do that since 2008!). They are giving more importance to pre-contest promo, both inside and outside Portugal.
I would like to see him sing in some of the pre-party's, especially Amsterdam, but he needs to rest before he starts preparing for Kyiv, so I don't know if he'd be able to do it :/

The friend from Portugal, from another site has posted this:

"Off topic: Salvador’s concerts yesterday in Évora was packed. He stopped half way through ‘Amar pelos dois’ because of he felt moved by the public reaction. It’s very unusual to see a musician like him getting this kind of reception. Before FdC his concerts were never sold out."

It doesn´t care if he goes top 10, wins, top 5, bottom in the final, bottom in the semi. This is genuine, this is pure, this is already in the hearts of thousands of people. This is gem.
