Robin's comment is 100% valid, and both he and Salvador come from a similar background (they both entered Idol when they were young and got their breakthrough via ESC or local selection for ESC), as for the Romanian guy's comment I'm not sure if I got it, criticism against Salvador's nonchalance during the ESC week is surely called for, but the health bit? Did Salvador make stuff like that up? That's some serious accusations really, if he made up health issues then he is really not just a douche but a bad person, but if he is actually having health issues then it's very serious to hold these against him (I speak from personal experience here having almost died out of health issues just some years ago).

Salvador had hernia's removed from his chest and was operated on during the week of his countries national final. I remember reading that doctors told him he wouldn't even be able to stand, but he fought through it. Then some very worrying rumours started circulating about just how bad his health actually was. Salvador denied the rumours at the time, but I was very worried when things were getting cancelled because of his health.

What Alex has said is disgusting, and some serious sour grapes. Salvador hasn't made anything up and this Romanian guy is an absolute idiot for having a rant like that. Health issues are not something to take lightly. Pretty disgusting to say someone is putting something on... abhorrently so. My respect levels for Robin have gone up. My respect levels for Alex are now gutter low.

Oh ok, so not an actual heart disease then I guess, but nevertheless holding someone's health against someone is just nasty, I might have been hard on Salvador for other reasons, but I would still defend him in this case because it's really not ok, and yeah "disgusting" is the right word to describe it here.

Of course he isn't making them up.You notice that bump he always has on his shirt? It seems it's some sort of equipment because of his heart disease.
Anyway, what Alex Florea said is completely ridiculous. He said that he never attended press conferences and never gave interviews? He did all of those things while he was there. He should go on wiwibloggs and see which interview currently has the most views. And he said he didn't take photos with other contestants? He did, with the ones he was friends with, like Norma John.
And there was no marketing campaign. Everyone in the Portuguese delegation, including and especially Salvador and Luísa, refused to talk about anything other than music in press conferences and interviews, both inside and outside Portugal. Especially about his health issues, they never talked about it because they didn't want him to be remembered as the guy that had a bad disease. But of course sore losers like Alex Florea will think about that and will use that to justify his victory. Of course being #1 in multiple charts across Europe and winning both jury and televote with a landslide will cause this reaction in the more juvenile contestants. Ilinca is a sweetheart though xlove

He does have an ongoing serious life-threatening condition, related to his heart. He tried to hide it and not feed speculation, until it became impossible to deny (when he was denied by his medical team to stay away for 2 whole weeks). Those chest hernias were side effects of his ongoing condition.

What bothers me the most is that some people, like Alex, are using this against him... when Salvador himself (and his sister and the whole team for that matter) was nothing but discrete and noble regarding this subject.

Oh ok, I understood it as hernia that was occured somewhere in the chest, close to the heart but not actually "in" the heart if that makes sense? It doesn't matter really, someone should never make fun or hold someone's disease against them, that's some serious stuff (as I wrote, been there done that so I know how it is to live with a serious disease myself).

new music from Salvador. It's a new band and he's the vocalist (although in the credits he appears with a fictitious name)

this is so rude. i have a narrative to build, salvador. it's very important. it's hard to criticize your attitude if your music is this good and you can serve this much sigur rós realness. you are making my internet board life difficult here. stop.

Yes, I am a total fangirl!
Too bad I will never ever get to see him live I guess. I know I have wrote this a 1000 times by now, but his presence on stage is amazing!

I don't know if you're able to visit other countries, but there's a huge Portuguese community in Germany (I belong to that community LOL), so he will definitely come here in the future. There's also a growing community in Norway, so he might even go there :)
