I'm absolutely disgusted with Alex's comments. They're just sad, unfair, mean and make me wanna xpuke

Though i understood Robin's remarks (even if i think most people misunderstood what Salvador was trying to say), there is nothing (NOTHING) that justifies this. Where the fuck does this come from? Why?

For this whole time, Salvador has tried as much as he could to not be known as "the health issues" guy. He could've used it, but he went out of his way not to. So this is just utterly disgusting and uncalled for.

And forgive me if i'm being unfair, but i start to wonder whether all the recent backlash has anything to do with Salvador at all! Everyone was all lovey dovey when Portugal was 3rd or 4th in the betting odds, harmless little old Portugal. People applauded Salvador's remarks in the interviews and press conferences (fellow colleagues included) and the song was great and blah blah blah.

Portugal wins and this is what we get. Great.

No more words needed for his rudeness but... seriously, Wiwibloggs sure knows how the world works! First they ask for interviews and pictures, they use the songs to sell their merchandising and then they publish articles like this with the only intention of making a fuss. Kinda the same thing happened to Francesco, he didn't say anything wrong but the minute he wasn't the favourite anymore, they immediately stopped talking about him if not complaining about his rehearsals and keep saying how bad they were. All of this after they made money with the Namastè t-shirt. Not nice.

I agree with this. They did hurt Francesco after having profited from him.

Is that article where Alex said this legit though? If this is something he actually said, then I am disgusted.

It is kind of a surprise, noone took his comment about the whole thing being ripped during the reprise seriously and turned it against him. It would fit perfectly well into conspiracy theories.

Btw: I wanted to order "Excuse me" on Amazon today. It is not available. It seems to be not available anywhere. I hope it will be soon with a bonus track.
Well, I could download it, but I'm not really keen on bland sounds. I'd love to get it on vinyl. Does anybody know, if it will be available soon?

I'm wondering which contestant will try to throw shade at Salvador today.

Well, he gets what he deserves... if you literary stay and throw shade at your competitors (while still just being a previous Idol participant yourself that didn't compose or write your own entry), then it's not surprising that some might throw shade back at him... karma

The amount of jealousy and hate for such a calm song is remarkable. And incredible. We are talking about Portugal winning for the first time with a romantic song.

I think some are already grinding their teeth, fearing that plastic disposible pop has died.

As much as I don't like this entry (although I appreciate that something different won), the so called "jealousy" is not because people are sore-losers, but that the winner is a douche that acted disrespectful, and he should be rightfully called out for his behavior. I think most people can take their favs didn't win, but arrogance and douchy behavior is not cute.

Alot of his competitors worked hard, in fact much harder than him, to create a good show for the viewers, but somehow this former Pop Idol contestant that didn't write or compose his entry think that he's in another league because he happen to have a different styled entry.

There's music for different taste and contexts, surely his entry would look crazy had he used background dancers and "fireworks", but it doesn't mean that the entry is any way more "real", it's just a different styled song. We can all have different taste, but a winner should be more respectful than that, especially when you look at the fact that he is not more "real" than many others considering his background in music and lack of actual input in his "work".

I would love you to be so argumentative when Salvador talked about refugees and their struggle. But no, you only saw what he said about the song contest as a whole, which was no lie, and took it out of proportion. It's very sad nowadays when everything is 0 or 100, with no middle term whatsoever.

Eurovision has a lot of bad music and he was talking about that, it also has very good music, but if he wanted to exemplify the exceptions we would still be hearing his speech. Do not generalize what he said, it's sad and tacky, but do try to understand what he meant. And all that talk about him being rude and disrespectful is getting old. get new arguments please.

Maybe an ex-winner, trying to steal some of the glory ? :D

From what I see, not many ex-winners care much about eurovision anymore  But he got approval from Marija Šerifović and Alexander Rybak at least!

I prefer not to comment on artist's political stances because I would probably disagree  , so I'll comment on things related to his behavior and comments in Eurovision...

There's alot of bad music in ESC, but it's pretty obvious a good Pop song is just "fast food pop" to him regardless of how good the song works in its context and how well prepared the act was and how much hours and hard work was done to make an entertaining show for the viewers...

No it's not "fast food pop" for him, you're putting words on his mouth. He was talking about the contest as a whole and he did cover a couple of songs from this year festival and both him and his sister praised a couple more.

And you shouldn't talk about his personality or behavior. This is a MUSIC festival, not a PERSONALITY one. People tend to forget that sometimes. Now, if you don't like Amar Pelos Dois... that's entirely your opinion and I have nothing to do with it and I respect it. But talking shit about a specific person THAT'S being a douche, and that's being disrespectful, which is, as you say, not cute.

No need to defend him, he simply didn't act nice and that's it, I'm not the douche here for pointing out facts...

What he "really" meant, well you are just as much speculating as I am then because none of us can truly say... we can just judge what he said at the moment and generally nonchalance during the Eurovision week (which was also pointed out by some of the competitors).

I agree though that it's not a personality contest.

I just caught up on the Robin and Alex statements.

What Robin said was actually fine, and said respectfully. I have no problem with it. Perhaps what Salvador said hit a bit of a nerve with him (because essentially he's obviously offended), but he shared his opinion well.

As for Alex.... Trololol someone is clearly very upset. "Cheap theatrics"? Does he think Salvador pushed cushions under his shirt to make those protrusions near his chest/stomach area? From the NF videos especially you can see how unwell he was, and not once (from my knowledge) was anything said about it on their end? Salvador even hit out at rumours during his concerts, making it a part of his show as he was frustrated by what was being said about his health. Portuguese media started the rumour about his "heart problems", when Salvador himself wanted to be private. How exactly does him being mysterious at the rehearsals equate to him winning the public vote? Our commentator from my memory didn't even mention his health until he had won, and we gave him 8 points. To be honest it's kind of sick to say someone is faking illness, let alone using it to "win". Is this person actually for real? Love the lies about interviews as well. A youtube search would do this man wonders.

"If you want to win, use what you do professionally, your voice, your show. That’s winning!" yeah, and he just did that, Felicia. Bye. Go back to falling off cannons whilst singing a song fit for a child's birthday party (i've got nothing against children's birthday party music as well, may I just add xheart except when it sucks).

Robin's comment is 100% valid, and both he and Salvador come from a similar background (they both entered Idol when they were young and got their breakthrough via ESC or local selection for ESC), as for the Romanian guy's comment I'm not sure if I got it, criticism against Salvador's nonchalance during the ESC week is surely called for, but the health bit? Did Salvador make stuff like that up? That's some serious accusations really, if he made up health issues then he is really not just a douche but a bad person, but if he is actually having health issues then it's very serious to hold these against him (I speak from personal experience here having almost died out of health issues just some years ago).
