I hate Salvador!
I was gonna vote for Francesco and maybe Croatia a few votes, and now Salvador comes into play :/. I guess I have to drop them all equal amount of votes and let somone else decide
Danijela is that you?
I thought Danijela liked Portugal!!
She doesn't like our song!
Maybe she's just sick of Portugal's popularity. That's common for overexposed favorites.
I'm glad Salvador peaked later...
Are we gonna makes history today people ?
Portugal's first ever Eurovision win and we'll be here for it
i mean since the gates of hell have been opened by someone else, i need to confess that this eurovision week has dawned on me that i think salvador is a phony with an ego bigger than his oversized clothes, i think amar pelos dois has become a very cynical, vote-grabbing performance as a result of that, and i would NOT be happy if this won even though portugal the country deserves a lovely result after years of injustices. i get the hype and i get the fans and i mean no disrespect to all the good portuguese posters we have here, but i've had it, officially.
Just to add some more spicy topping to the already huge hype over Salvador, here are all Portugal's top 10's over the years!
1996 Lúcia Moniz - O meu coração não tem cor
1994 Sara Tavares - Chamar a música
1993 Anabela - A Cidade
1991 Dulce Pontes - Lusitana Paixao
1980 José Cid - Um grande, grande amor
1979 Manuela Bravo - Sobe sobe balão sobe
1973 Fernando Tordo - Tourada
1972 Carlos Mendes - A festa da vida
1971 Tonicha - Menina do alto da serra
Every top that doesn't include Rita Guerra I consider invalid
That's why we got the juries back.
I don't understand why the fans are all over Portugal all of a sudden. They have known the song for months but preferred Italy. I myself have been critical of Italy when I saw the rehearsal video but Portugal hasn't improved. It's the same it has always been. This sudden hype is rather strange.
Well this is the best chance for a portugese win ever since the beginning of the contest. Portugal is the country that is waiting for the longest time for this chance. So I suppose a good part of this hype comes from the excitement about the mere opportunity which influences the way people perceive the song. Plus the momentum the odds created. This is a kinda circular process.
