Alesia Michelle kind of sums up how I feel about the song and the final. it's not that solo is bad it's just that it's painfully average and that there were better options to go (even if jann was my clear favourite, losing against something else that's good would have been alright, it happens) but her questioning how THIS out of all songs could win the jury vote is exactly why people are throwing side-eyes at this pre-selection.

although i don't agree with her other favourites, it's astonishing how clearly ridiculous it is that solo won the jury vote out of all of these songs because it neither fits the narrative of it being particularly interesting nor was it the best sung song, not even out of the pop songs tonight.

Man, you just don't live in Poland. Everyone here knows it was rigged. Even my dad, who is a huge supporter of PiS (ruling party) says it was 100% rigged. I'm not sure how to explain it to a foreigner to be fair.

Imagine a dude, who was sentences a few times for shoplifting randomly walks into a jewlery shop wearing a black mask on his face and when security stops him he says, that he's just looking for a gift for his girlfriend. Later that day same security notices a few items suddenly disappeared. Of course it might be a case that someone else stole them, but it's almost certain, that the culprit was the aforementioned dude.

It's the same with TVP. They have lied to the Polish people, rigged different contests, spread propaganda etc. so many times already, that it would actually be very weird, if this specific contest was suddenly not rigged.

I know many people are saying now thing like "but they did send Ochman last year, didn't they?". While it is true, let's not forget that:
1. The voting system was very different last year, with public vote having much more power than the jury vote.
2. Ochman, unlike Jann, had affiliations with TVP before the contest and featured in some of their programmes. I'm not saying he cheated or something, but TVP might have been more eager to send him than in Jann's case. Jann literally "came out of nowhere". He had never appeared in any television programmes and has 0 connection to TVP. Adding to that the fact, that he's most likely gay (I don't know for sure, he's got no wikipedia page) it is just obvious as daylight, that TVP simply didn't want to send him to eurovision instead of one of their pets.

I just want to add that the only reason they did not went with selecting her internally was the case with Rafał and the backlash. If it wasn't for that, you could be 100% sure they would not even bother with that clownery of a national final.

I agree with all my heart. That's why most of our hate is not towards Blanka, but TVP. Her song is not terrible and with some revamps and better vocals might end up qualifying in Liverpool after all. TVP on the other hand has done everything they could to deserve the hate. Period.
