Gijs Van Hoecke was immediately sent home by the Belgian committee because of his inappropriate behaviour .

Well at least a Belgian managed to get on the front page of a British tabloid, it's Belgium's biggest achievement during the Olympics so far !

Tbh this is fairly common if you go to Belgian youth parties in small villages where the beer is even cheaper than water . Even at the parties at my university, we have this A LOT, but it's because of the cultural reasons: what's a Russian party without vodka or a French sing-a-long without wine . The worst party ever I organised was with the French erasmus students, they are the best in being drunk. But I guess this happens everywhere .

Gijs = Belgian Hero 3! We won gold for getting hammered, not everyone gets that honour .
