I disagree that the juries are there to put primarily focus on vocals, they are there to vote for the songs (and packages) and yes we could of course do that from home as well but a "professional jury" might see other aspects in songs than the general viewer can. But hey, that's just how I view it...
I never said it should be primarily about just vocals, rather the live performance as a whole should be given more weight for them than the song’s hit potential. The criteria is intentionally vague with a lot of contradiction and overlap but the performative aspects that true industry professionals would be there to look for would cover the whole visual presentation, emotional conviction, connection, clarity, etc., overall appreciation of the art of live performance.
In saying that, I realise they don’t realistically break down every song in such minute detail, and obviously we have jurors abusing the system every year but in theory that’s what they ought to be there for to reward quality. At least we can both see the value in having them there to recognise those aspects in the songs that us at home may overlook.

The juries were pretty happy with Atle, so I don't know about that. Maybe some thought that Ulrikke's and Eline's songs were simply too bland. Juries don't have to give 12 points to uninteresting songs just because they are technically well performed.
I don’t disagree, and third with the jury overall for Ulrikke is very respectable. I just don’t really understand how some industry professionals would rank Ulrikke last or in the bottom because I think we can all agree it was far from being one of the worst performances of the night.

True. But to be honest, one of the reasons why I support the removal of juries (or at least reduction of their influence) is that they tend to favour unmelodic, well-performed songs. Like we saw last year with Australia, Switzerland and Iceland in Turin. That doesn't contribute to a good show in general.

Fantastic choices all around tonight! I'm sure both the staging and Alessandra's vocals will be more polished by May and this will rock the vote. I think a televoting top 10 at minimum is basically guaranteed.
I'm really glad Ulrikke's 3 minutes sucession of clichés did not win. I love her but she deserves to get to the Eurovision stage with something way, way, way better than that.

Justice 4 Ulrikke. She was KEiiNO'd.

Alessandra's song is a copy + paste of Klara's from Melfest last year, but I loved that so I'll end up loving her version anyway lol

I didn't watch the semis because this year is complicated for me but I really enjoyed yesterday evening show. My favourite was Jone but Alessandra clearly deserve her victory. She was so cute during the show and seemed very young on her reactions. (And on another topic I understood a lot of what was said, my Norwegian has improved a lot since last year, I'm so glad.)

It's a :8: for me!

Best song out of 7 in the running right now. Most likely top10 in the final and trending on tiktok and other socials in May. One bad thing about this song - this melody and drop in chorus is so overused nowadays, I literally heard such combination in hundreds edm songs. Still :10: points from me, gl in May .

I won't tolerate this Systur slander. They were top 10 televote in their semi and would have qualified anyway without juries.

I think inserting some Norwegian verses somewhere in the song would really make it stand out more. It is a good song and I think with a good presentation it can stand out in the actual contest. One of the better songs revealed so far.

Well, it was kind of expected that Alessandra would win. Not my Cup of tea at all, but I guess I am glad for the Bubble. However I am still not sure if this Will do as well in May as some here seem to think. We‘ll see.

In the swimming pool, always stayin' cool
There are some magic out of this. Not my kind of song, we've already heard ones like this, but the overall package is a banger with a catchy-as-hell chorus and a likable performer, and simple yet effective staging. Alessandra deserved her win.
Still looking forward yet to see what's it gonna be like without autotune... But for now it's a :10: for me.

I didn't hop on this train ride of "hype and banger song" before and I still find this song listenable, likeable and it's an okayish, nice choice. Alessandra can perform and she definitely enjoys her time on stage. I wish the best for Norway! :giggle:
