Alessandra - Queen of the Kings is really quite good IMO. The staging was perhaps a bit pre-teen, but will hopefully mature.

Slightly OT but one thing that will never change is NRK's hopeless lighting. Kate Gulbrandsen looked ancient and haggard.

How are the chances of Ekke inni meg for at least advancing to the superfinal? I can't wait for the full version and the live performance of the song.

My question too. I fear this is a song that will not translate well live. My fave this year. Got some muscle and soul (the female part is cleverly modernized traditional folk singing) and the parts fit really well together. I also believe the singer is young male low class, and then there's no hope.

How can people praise Ulrikke's staging? It's basically the same for every third Norwegian entry at Eurovisio xD
I mean why change a formula that's working?
For real though, how else would a ballad like that be staged? Something more low-key wouldn't work with an anthemic song like that. Some more over-the-top would completely ruin the vibe that ballads try to convey. It's at the sweet spot, really.

The staging is alright ... like you said, it´s a(n ordinary) ballad.

I just saw a few comments in a FB group who praised the staging... and I think it´s blown out of proportion - the whole strings/gold colour theme, though, has been quite a recurring one (even for Norway). It´s not necessarily bad but simply "old-fashioned" and that´s why I disagree with the praise the performance/staging got on social media.

Well I've listened to a couple of Heat 2, and tbh Sandras song is FAARRR superior to Ulrikkes song and I already forget whatever it was that Elsie sung but it was rubbish. Also it's actually Norwegian so those who were ascending over the 2 words of Norwegian in Ulrikkes song will obviously far past Pluto once they listen to Sandras song.

However.

W A I S T

Ella come thru xheat A hit. Queen of Kings and now this. MGP is giving us all a treat this year.

After listening to the songs, I like Sandra and Ella A most! Elsie's song leaves me cold, but people will eat this, I guess.

Waist is really good, but the live performance is crucial.

Elsie Bay's song is better than I expected. Not Death of Us good, but i find it more interesting than the Heat 1 Qs

I've only listened to Elsie Bay's song so far and I was really, really enjoying it, and then it started building somewhere and then... it suddenly ended. Anyone else get that feeling?

Sandra´s song is incredible.
The chorus might be a bit cheesy but it´s undeniably memorable and more importantly, universally understood - from Iceland/Portugal to Azerbaijan/Australia whilst the verses are still in Norwegian.
Usually, I´d say it´s rather lazy to just include "na na na" or "la la la"s in a chorus but in this case, it simply works since it´s part of the lyrical I´s story (about a child trying to create a strong melody in her mind to cover the noise around her - a sound "no child should be hearing").
The instrumental is strong as well and almost makes the song anthemic.
It´s a very uplfiting song with a strong message!
