6. Ulrikke

I don't really like the song, and the performance is a bit demonstrative (?)
A bit disappointed, but the live is still good.

Jowst was my 2017 winner, I hated Freaky for the weekend as a studio but this performance is really winning me round

Ulrikke is designed for esc not MGP,needs some rework in sections, but room for lovely camera work, question is can she win MGP with a song for esc,but not their stage

JOWST really knows how to pick his vocalists though

Arguably the most memorable song of the night

I really liked the whole visual package honestly, still not entirely sold on Freaky for the weekend but i feel miles better about it than I did only a few hours ago

7. Byron Williams Jr & JOWST

I hate when there is jokes element but working so well musicaly, because I always feel like it has to win.
And Norway needs a "serious" contribution (as one of the strongest country at ESC).

Awful, just cringe.

What has happened to MGP this year? I've loved previous years but this year, everything seems so much more amateur with staging and camera angles and everything. Doesn't help that these songs aren't really all killer.

Alessandra and Ulrikke are the only two I could be bothered to watch again, so they need to qualify. Weird crochet waistcoat big clog man will probably fight it out with boyband for the other qualifying spot. Depends who gets the fan vote I guess...

As for the sassy party vibe, brought to you by a black guy, Freaky for the weekend literally is a 2023 version of :ee: 2001.

Yea, it was the strongest lineup by far to me (in previous years), it does not feel like that on this first semi-final.

How are the chances of Ekke inni meg for at least advancing to the superfinal? I can't wait for the full version and the live performance of the song.

exactly, I reserve my judgement until all songs are out but snippets did nothing for me. this is one of the most boring MGPs of last years I fear. most songs are neither here nor there, just very middle of road stuff.
