Re: NORWAY 2019

I love Morland's songs, and 'en livredd mann' is no exception, but this song doesn't sound like it's written for a musical competition.

It's sad because I know he has great potential. His voice is out of this world. If he wins, I'd be greatly happy that Norway will be represented with an entry in Norwegian language.

Spirit in the sky is nice, but I choose to refrain from jumping to the hype train for now. :D It's a 7 from me.

Re: NORWAY 2019

I see the KEiiNO train arriving at my station but I'm really not sure if I'll go on board... On the one side most parts of the song are quite enjoyable but on the other side it also feels like a cheesy and weak mix between Monsters, Greta Salome stuff and some other songs... And I really can't stand the joik bridge part - I like in other parts of the song but this part is to much for me. Only Jon Henrik can please me with so much joik...

So I'll have to wait and see... I'm very curious about the live performance btw

Anyway it's miles above the other entries...

I can say that "Spirit in the sky" would have been bashed by the fan community if that would have represented us, still it´s a ok song, maybe a bit dated (sounded like something made 10 years ago)

The chorus should have been more strong, all I can say is that I will very very very surprised if it won´t win MGP, (compared to the other songs in the lineup) but it´s definitely not a winner in Tel Aviv, but probably good enough for a score in the middle

Good lord, why is nobody talking about this song? This is a French house banger I can really get behind, love it!

Actually no because it would have been something daring for :se:... People here thinking that everyone hates :se: in general are totally wrong... I just like a song or I don't like it that's it.

As for "Spirit in the Sky" I'm still very torn on it... And I can also see why some might call it dated. Let's wait and see how my opinion will develop in the next weeks!

Spot on! To me it sounds like the song fans want Sweden to send each year but they are always denied. Sweden have songs like this in their NFs that are usually very well received by the fandom, but in the end something else gets picked.

KEiiNO is amazing :D The lyrics are so dreamy and it makes my daydream. Right now the staging has no include northern lights in all colours - and I also had this lunatic of a idea that maybe Sami people should join when the jodling and sami parts starts for real, and a couple of majestic reindeer on the LED screen flying in a sky full of stars - a bit like Snape's patronus in HP - although it's a doe but still

And I think our last entries have been enjoyable but not my cup of tea and I haven't really cheered for our entries since Mørland and Debrah Scarlett. If KEiiNO gets the staging right and live vocals, I think they'll sail through the final and to Tel Aviv :D

Sorry for the spam, but this is how the reindeer should look like:

Re: NORWAY 2019

I just heard the songs today ! :) Is a normal NF but interesting

My favorite
KEiiNO - Spirit In The Sky - This was love the first hearing, I like how they mix several sounds,I love the woman's voice.I love the part of 2:22,This reminds me so much of jon henrik fjällgren xheart ... I hope this will win, I think this would be high on my top Final

Hank von Hell - Fake It This is so my cup of tea, I also really like it !

Mørland - En Livredd Mann I really like your voice (your song in 2015 was one of my favorites), I also really like the instrumental of this song, but I feel that I have to listen more often, it can be a producer

I can also imagine a shaman doing some spirit stuff and make a beautiful backdrop

This sounds messy but I’d like to see them give it a try...

Re: NORWAY 2019

Okay I'm really starting to root for Spirit In The Sky now! Im digging it!! It's just so much fun listening to it...xmusic I'm hearing this on repeat right now

It's reminding me of so many different Eurovision songs/ normal songs though... Like a (entertaining - let's say good) mix of 20 different songs... Well I'd say that's a really good sign for Eurovision because many viewers will connect to it easily!

It's even giving me some Rednex vibes haha

Spot on! To me it sounds like the song fans want Sweden to send each year but they are always denied. Sweden have songs like this in their NFs that are usually very well received by the fandom, but in the end something else gets picked.

:se: always plays very safe in the end... And that's what I wanted to say, sometimes I then like a song, sometimes not... I liked the :se: entries in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017 but 2016 for example was to much wannabe different and unique but yet overproduced and quite a rip-off. 2018 was also very overproduced, with a cocky performer in MJ style and I totally hate MJ.

Re: NORWAY 2019

I always enjoy Norway's MGP quite a bit, and over-all it's a pretty good year, but for sure not one of the best and I don't think anything here has clear top 10 potential. Just like with Iceland, they could do so much better than this.

My top 5:

1. Mørland - En Livredd Mann ... I adore the guy and his music, I think he's just brilliant, and "A Monster Like Me" is possibly my most favourite Eurovision entry ever. I'm not as convinced by this one, especially as the mood of the song doesn't completely grab me (though it definitely does create a mood at least) and there's no clear stand-out moment in this song imo, but even considering that, it's still a damn stunning and masterful entry that keeps growing on me with some amazing production and melodies and I love, love how well he can emote with his voice. I would also absolutely love it if Norway sent an entry in Norwegian. Maybe it's too predictable of a choice and Keiino offers something more fun, but I still think it'd be a shame if this song was lost in the national final, because in terms of quality and ambition it's miles ahead from the rest in my opinion.
2. Keiino - Spirit In The Sky ... I kind of don't know what to think about it, because I have so many conflicting thoughts. I honestly don't even know if it knows what it wants to be itself. The dated feel makes me hate it and love it simultaneously and it's annoyingly yet amazingly Eurovision. I think what makes it confusing most of all is I don't know how seriously they take this song themselves. If they don't take it too seriously, I'm on board. Definitely not the classiest choice Norway could make and it's not a current radio hit by any means nor anything groundbreaking at all, but it does stand out and it could be quite interesting.
3. Adrian Jorgensen - The Bubble ... It's super sweet and pleasant to listen to, albeit not very ambitious. Also the female voice coming in so late was quite random, though it enriches the song. I like it, but it's definitely overshadowed by Mørland's song and ultimately falls into the gray mass of so many songs that are similar to it in general.
4. Ingrid Berg Mehus - Feel ... It's pretty enjoyable, the mix of the violin and the electronic sound is quite interesting here, especially at the instrumental chorus, which is something I usually hate. But I feel like the potential was bigger here than the execution, I'm not really into the melody or her delivery of it. Still, it's in the better half for me.
5. D'Sound - Mr. Unicorn ... It's a fun one without sounding blatantly dated or annoying (like some of the other songs in the selection). Not particularly interesting, though, and I don't think it's the type of song to work well on stage or at Eurovision, but it gets me moving.

Re: NORWAY 2019

Spirit in the sky has been stuck in my head for ages now and I keep listening to it, that chorus is life itself. I don't think i've felt this hyped for a possible Norwegian entry since the blessing that 'En godt stekt pizza' graced us all with its presence.
