Re: NORWAY 2019

The new thing in Melodi Grand Prix since Stig Karlsen took over last year is the end of the 'family entertainment' -songs. Meaning 'fun' retro songs from the 50-80s and old favorite acts that always was a staple of the competition. (although Rybak's 'what-shall-we-call-it' from last year was sort of an exception)

I guess this year it will be even more 'current', but wouldn't be surprised if it swings too much the other way with everyone hammered with teen acts since Idol, X-factor and you name it.

Still a good effort of trying to make MGP more edible for top acts/writers by rooting out the 'circus factor', although I expect some lean 'teen' years to come.

Oh, so it seems that NRK is trying to win within the next two years....we'll see if they have something in this line-up then that can do it. ;)

First song: "Mr. Unicorn" D'Sound

Sounds like Daft Punk-kind-of-a-song. Not my type of music, but interesting nevertheless.

What the...Song #2: "We Try" with CHRIS MEDINA!!

He is apperently living in Norway and got a norwegian wife. Sounds like an uptempo dance song.

Song #3: "Hold Me Down" Carina Dahl

R'n'B-pop ballad it seems. Her third time in MGP.

"Holla" with Anna-Lisa Kimoji sounds really interesting. Hiphop and soul in da house! :D

Ok, I usually do not like returning artists, but I am excited about Mørland.
