I don't know if you mean yourself or me (in fact it's often hard to understand your weird comments) but I'm also 22 just fyi

Myself xrose. I was your age when I had a similar reaction to 19 year old Grete Paia. It's weirdly confrontal at first, but like Hayashi said, you'll get over your surprise pretty quickly.

This Song is written for Fans and Casual Viewers. Theres no way it will flop.

Sure
There are plenty of ways this could flop immensely. Plenty of ways it will do well as well, but out of all the songs out there this screams expected non-expected flop

A thought I had when I was looking at the jury faves, I got a feeling that KEiiNO did very bad with the jurys, AKA not being in the top 4 even. They were only the fave of the Israeli jury and with "Mr. Unicorn" and "The Bubble" getting far more jury faves, they should have been the top 2 probably. Sure we don't know the full score (yet at least, will that be revealed during this week?), but I got a feeling it was pretty tight for 3rd and 4th place between "Holla", Mørland and KEiiNO.

Let me just make it clear that it’s not certain we’ll do well this year, but it’s definitely a good chance we will if the staging’s right

My latest interpretation of the song:

If you listen closely, it's as if 3 types of creatures are singing together - men (the guy), angel (the girl) and beast (the bald guy) - as they coexist to live in a mythical land.

Call me delusional

Dated? Yes.

How do you even define "dated" when it comes to a song like Spirit in the Sky... I mean that's a common thing to say for boring ballads, weak pop songs and so on but SITS is so unique in it's own way...

After hearing the song a few more times after the final. It's not a grower but the total opposite.

I'm changing my vote from 10 all the way down to 6!

Unique? Really?

This sounds like an 90's Europop band. There's nothing new nor original in this entry.

Maybe that's what he means with dated.

Originality is an overrated quality nowadays in esc, sure it's nice to see it but it's not a necessary requirement in order to have a great entry. Everyone seems to expect it and use as a means of measuring a song, instead of enjoying it for what it is.

I don‘t like it. Overproduved and it lavks originality. The melody of the girl reminds of the monster song last year (Finland?)

yeah people asking originality, modernity etc of eurovision entries always struck me as bizarre. not that those things are bad but have these people watched contests from the 90s and before? sometimes the same old is the best lol.

It's because it uses the same chord progression. A lot of contemporary songs use the same chord progression. For instance Eleni's "Fuego" uses the same one as Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" and Adele's "Hello"

Spiwit in the skai's lack of originality is why precisely I love it lol. It's typical Eurovision ethnoschlager hooked up to my veins. There is literally no song in this year that triggers my musical saudade as much as this one. I love it, I love it, I love it, love it, love it -- Oscar Enestad.
