The artist who will represent the Netherlands in ESC 2024 will be internally selected.

"The majority of the entries are in English, but almost a hundred of them are in Dutch, and some of them contain lyrics in French, Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, and Italian."

This is a fascinating group of songs. It is unfortunate that we won't have an opportunity to hear most of them.

I'm guessing this is the song with which Anouk wanted to represent the Netherlands. Since it's the shortest (but still not 3.00)

Or did she perhaps send another song and decide not to include it in the album?

elvanyx beat me to it! :D

An Ilse return would be amazing. :nl: Calm After the Storm is my favorite Eurovision song of all time.

Karsu and Numidia would be both be interesting choices as well.

Joost Klein is a bold choice for sure. It’s quite the change and, depending on the song of course, could do either very well or bomb spectacularly. But I like that they’re taking risks.

Why am I not surprised that the Dutch delegation went for something they find similar to an entry that was a hype last year (Kaarija). Trying to repeat success doesn't work that well imo.

Besides that, finally it's something else than an emotional song with a story!!!! and something, well.. fun. I appreciate that we're finally sending something different

Listened to a few of his songs, it's a bold choice and it's nice to see The Neds try something different

Unexpectedly different choice and that's why it's awesome.
I'll wait for the final outcome to judge because right now I have no idea whether I will like it or absolutely detest it.... but it's definitely a bold move.

That said, I think that the Netherlands have had an amazing strike of entries apart from 2021 and 2023, it's time their broadcaster came up with something new/a change in direction and who knows.... maybe Joost can surprise us all and comes up with the next Eurovision fan anthem...
