I know right??? But juries screwing what could have probably been one of the best entries of the past decade probably made her scared sending something like that again (all her entries in English after that one have been dreadful xshrug)... I mean look at how they favor Boris... there's no space for anything interesting in this year's Moldovan selection :(

I think Scarlat will win this time.. xfaint

Why is that? Did they say they're pushing for that song or why are you under that impression?

Wouldn't they give him a better running order number if they were bias towards him?

Aren't running order numbers sorta useless though if it's fixed?

Well, it's just an impression I have, and unfortunately this is very common in these selections (Ukraine is working in a similar fashion).

But why are you accusing him of being the jury favorite and it is fixed in his favor? There must be a reason why you're saying these things.

Unlike many Eastern countries, all the results are revealed from A to Z and seem realistic (not like :by: or :ua: with winning acts having 10 times more votes at the begining of the votes.)

So I trust :md:

Boris Coval may win because he's one of the best singers with one of the safest songs.
But all isn't done. Mikaella had a lot of televotes, but she can't sing.

Well, we have the jury results plus unfortunately corruption like this is very common in this part of Europe... I hope I'll be proven wrong though xshrug

So you just making it up, just wanted to clarify that.

I looked it up and Boris won jury & televote. it is possible that people actually like that song even if you don't agree with it.

Yeah, you could argue that it was "fixed" for Aliona last year and he still won the televote then...

Regardless, I don't see the appeal at all and I think the year he wins will be the year Moldova finally flops.

I'm speculating yes...

Well, the juries yes, doubt about the public though... he seems to be a rather known name in Moldova though so that could obviously help... however people tend to vote for what they feel connected to and a conventional western ballad in Moldova? Nah, highly doubt it tbh... if people took some time actually getting to learn something about the different countries they would have some sort of idea of what the public there would genuinely support... but seems like alot of people just adapt their (often western) mindset on all people and expect that to be some sort of universally liked thing ... xshrug

But if they ACTUALLY like the song then good for them... but doesn't seem very "Moldovan" to me xshrug

Also, corruption is everywhere in this part of Europe, that's just a fact and therefor I'm always skeptical about their selections and most people should be.

They flopped in 2008 :D

and didn't do to hot in 2010 barely qualifying.

@ Matt

Let me just add, I wish I would be less cynical, but unfortunately I just know too well how things work in these countries and when I see a song that I simply can't understand how it connects to a wider audience of a certain country then I get even more suspicious... I can just cross my fingers that I'm wrong most of the times. I mean I even heard from insiders about the corruption in MF, so there's no need to go to Eastern Europe to get corruption in ESC selections xshrug

I wouldn't count 2010 as a bad result in the long run... it's probably Moldova's most famous Eurovision entry, I don't think the fact that it placed badly is really relevant anymore.

I even think that one charted here, so as for a life after Eurovision, I'd agree that it's probably one of the most famous and successful Moldovan entries to date.
